  1. Chris , yes i do have a 10 gauge wire running to the fuel pump. At idle it idles fine ,but when you rev it up, like snap the throttle, the idle drops really low like it wants to die.
  2. Rumnhammer do a search on basic wiring i know someone wrote something about it . I'll look at my set up and i'll let you know.
  3. I'm having a werid idle probem. Just finish the wiring on rb26 swap into 240z . The motor starts up fine went for a test drive, drove fine but few prbolems on the way. but the main conern is the idle drops ,like it wants to die. At idle, it idles good but when you rev it high at idle it wants to die then the idle comes back up. I have aeromotive fuel pump, filter and fpr. I check the voltage at idle its good 12v and when i rev it it drops to 5 to 6 volts. Any ideas what can cause the drop idle when rev up high.????/:fmad:
  4. 240z master, sorry i meant about fuel management system like going with SDS, Tec 3, etc.. What are you going to use? What every brand of system, are you going to write up something in your web site? ???

  7. I just wired up fuel pump relay and bypass the fuel pump control modulator. When i got my engine it didn't have a fuel pump modulator,I tried to wire up the modulator and just got so much probemes starting the car, so i just wired up a relay. Works fine I just need to test drive a see if anything goes wrong.
  8. Where can i get spark plugs for the R32 motor? I'm having a hard time looking for a set. I readed in some forum that the P# for the spark plugs are NGK PRF6A-11. If so where can i get a set. Went to NGK web site they don't even list the p#.Where can a get a set???
  9. Wiring up the rb engine harness to stock 240z is not that hard.If you have factory manual, study EN-170,171 and 172 and the factory 240z You can figure it out. One advice if you dont have the factory FPCM (fuel pump control moduel, I think thats what they call it.) Just add a fuel pump relay. It will cause headaches .Basicly power up the ecu and the ignition. If you don't have the the rb factory manual do a search. If you have anymore question just let me know. I've done the factory harness and it works. The only thing is the engine runs very rich, I think its the computer.
  10. Thanks kennysgreen280zt and vashonz for the info.

  14. I did a searh about wiring up distribotorless ignition and found no information about it. I remember reading something while back, but can't find it. Anyway I got the rb26 swap running about a week ago I just need few more things before i test drive it. I just installed autometer tach today and tach adapter, I'm having a hard time installing the tach adapter. By the way i'm using the stock rb26 engine harness,if that helps. As anybody installed tach adapter on to stock rb26 engine harness, if so need some help. Thanks

  18. I remove the rb26 alternater and found a connetion/picture on the alternater. "S" + white/red wire and "L" - white/blue. On the 240z alternater wire the soild yellow is ignition voltage.I trace the white/black and found that it goes to the voltage regulater box, now remove.White/black goes no where now. What do i conneted it to? On the rb connetion say "L"- is ground, do i ground the black/white wire?????? I've read somewhere one of the two wires goes to the charging light and makes a loop. Is that right????? If so how??? Corrert me if I'm wrong. What to connet to the black/white???? I'm in a stand still..
  19. Hello there, as anyone done with there rb26 swap and driving it, if so can anyone help me out with the alternater wiring thanks.
  20. Will i did a seach throughout the hybridz forum and found nothing about wiring up the rb alternater. Let me start all over,I'm working on rb26dett swap into 1973 240z.Just finish the swap couple days ago and went to start it, the battery was weak so I hooked up a battery booster and start right up. But when I disconnet the battery booster the the car just die.The car wont start without the batttery booster.I check the voltage on the battery 12 volt. The voltage regulater is disconneted, not being use. I seems like the alternater is not charging the battery. This is what i did, On the rb alternater there is two wires WHITE/BLUE and WHITE/RED.I conneted the 240z alternater wire WHITE/BLACK to rb26 WHITE/BLUE and rb26 wire WHITE/RED and 240z wire solid YELLOW. Do i have to do something to the voltage regulator? Any ideas.
