  1. my AFM on my 78 280z just buggered out to be unable to pass smog, I borrowed one to get it pass this time but in need of a replacement for next year. Just wondering are there any direct swap ins available aside from the factory? like from a newer 240sx or such?

And yes I would love to get rid of the afm altogether... so computer as in megasquirt? thnx!

  2. i thought u guys would like some updated products for this DIY roller method. Same technique, different paint. The guy used a marine boat paint called "brightside". Not sure where to get them in canada/usa but the results look amazing. My rustoleum (tremclad) paint looked fantastic after a wet sand and polish but after the years it's beginning to look dull and swirly. Not to mention, 1 thing i found with the rustoleum is that dirt sticks to it like glue. The exhaus from your tail pipes will stick to it, but unlike with normal paint that you can just wash off, the rustoleum will still be stained. only way to really get it off is polish it off with some sort of compound or wax. I used a white paint so it's extremely apparent.

anyhow, here is the thread with the brightside. truly amazing in the shine over the rustoleum

anyone knw where to get it locally?

1 good thing about rustoleum is you can get it at your local homedepot and they can color match it. I color matched mine to Honda's Champion white. Im not sure you can colormatch this though, however the shine over the rustoleum is worth the lack of color choice.

  3. Did a quick shoot for him on his lawn tonite haha (i filled in the grass with concrete in PS). It rained a bit, but nothing sexier than a few raindrops on a sexy car! Image a hot girl coming out of a pool with her bikini, this is her! haha

  4. chisel and hammer sounds about right. it takes TIME.

when i did mine, i found chisel and hammer was quicker and cleaner than heating it with a heat gun and scrap it off. If ur real good like me, jab the chisel in the edge of it and push it along the metal, then it'll flake off the entire row. Be careful not to chisel through the metal though if ur goin to use a hammer.

  5. well the stock z breaks are more than adequit for everyday driving and light autox/track. But if u want the best out of the car in terms of breaks, rear calipers and front upgrades are the way to go.

some good things come to mind to upgrade would be easier to service, marginal performance gain, more choice in performance pads, and just looks nicer.

cons, cant really thing of any? just u'll get ur hands dirty and have to source the parts. for me, bleeding the calipers were a pain because i used 85 maxima calipers and the way it sits, the nipple was not facing 12noon so some air was still getting trapped inside. took me 2 weeks to figure out the problem. Now i have to bleed it while 1 side of the caliper is loosened and tilted up. No biggie but still a pain.

  6. Its not that i do not like the dash in it. I just want something different. You most likely will not like what i got under the hood either. I really like the modern look you get with Nissan s13 dash in a z which has been done. But the s14 dash look awsome, and its just my opinion that it will look nice in a Datsun also.

actually i like what you have under the dash :D im far from a purest, but im just saying there's things to get rid of and others to keep. But it's all personal preference in the end. thats wat keeps the car club to fun and unique. otherwise we'd all have the exact same car...

"It's like throwing a body kit on a jag e-type to make it look modern.... "

Sorry, I couldn't pass that up.

  7. drax: ya $500 is great when im not doing hotel stuff, you make so much more on conmercial stuff. I'm gonna looking into realestate market again though, the recession can be a nice time to update photos :D. thnx.

careless: i use a 5dmk2 17-40L lens and 580ex2 flash. the photo straight out of the camera looks nothing spectacular... all i can say is get your good composition, and ALWAYS keep your verticals straight (ie camera level) never tilt up or down. Only times you can tilt up or down is either 1. you use a tilt shift lens or 2. you fix ur verticals in photoshop. Thats one of the main differences between amateur and professional interior photography i learned early on.

The other thing is most of the result is achieved with merging of layers and photoshop post. Of course how you shoot makes a difference but the main thing to achieve that print quality work is how u process the images... um... too much to explain how to photoshop, but here's a before and after of the image. This before picture is just the base exposure, you need to take a flash exposure and color exposure ontop and merge together.

  8. i do mostly print for hotels... but im looking into property developers. What you said about real estate is very true, however they're not goin to pay $5k for some pictures to put in a classified paper, u knw wat i mean?

  9. hyundai will be the next toyota/lexus in 10 years. for you ppl saying "it's a hyundai" have to understand thats exactly wat ppl said about toyota/nissan/honda 30 years ago. I've test drove these things and quite frankly here's the verdict

    i'd take a genesis coupe over a 370z/g37

i'd take a genesis sedan over a lexus GS/mercedes E-class (coming from a merc owner)

and when the time comes and after a test drive i might even consider taking the Hyundai Equus over a S-class...

    you be the verdict:
