Just wondering are there any direct swap ins available aside from the factory? like from a newer 240sx or such? And yes I would love to get rid of the afm altogether... so computer as in megasquirt? thnx!

    Drifting at Adams

i love drifting, but i have to say doing so in our Zeds is quite hard. Something about the cars is hard to grasp the perfect 'sweet spot' too little and nothing happens, a bit more and it spins. Hard to get a perfectly pretty competition drift going. Also due to the suspension design and a relatively large turning radius, the angle of the drift isn't very big. I think that has alot of effect on the small sweet spot, when you go a bit over, you cant turn far enough to pull your rear back.

  10. all i can say is whoa...... anyone wanna try this? read the whole thing. its the guy with teh orange charger and the beetle... its amazing... for rolling on paint.... http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=2331682&page=0&fpart=1&vc=1
  11. i thought u guys would like some updated products for this DIY roller method. Same technique, different paint. The guy used a marine boat paint called "brightside". Not sure where to get them in canada/usa but the results look amazing. My rustoleum (tremclad) paint looked fantastic after a wet sand and polish but after the years it's beginning to look dull and swirly. Not to mention, 1 thing i found with the rustoleum is that dirt sticks to it like glue. The exhaus from your tail pipes will stick to it, but unlike with normal paint that you can just wash off, the rustoleum will still be stained. only way to really get it off is polish it off with some sort of compound or wax. I used a white paint so it's extremely apparent. anyhow, here is the thread with the brightside. truly amazing in the shine over the rustoleum http://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t5199/ here is the brightside company website. Company is called interlux. http://www.yachtpaint.com/usa/default.asp anyone knw where to get it locally? 1 good thing about rustoleum is you can get it at your local homedepot and they can color match it. I color matched mine to Honda's Champion white. Im not sure you can colormatch this though, however the shine over the rustoleum is worth the lack of color choice.

  17. chisel and hammer sounds about right. it takes TIME. when i did mine, i found chisel and hammer was quicker and cleaner than heating it with a heat gun and scrap it off. If ur real good like me, jab the chisel in the edge of it and push it along the metal, then it'll flake off the entire row. Be careful not to chisel through the metal though if ur goin to use a hammer.
  18. ncie work! did u do the front too?
  19. well the stock z breaks are more than adequit for everyday driving and light autox/track. But if u want the best out of the car in terms of breaks, rear calipers and front upgrades are the way to go. some good things come to mind to upgrade would be easier to service, marginal performance gain, more choice in performance pads, and just looks nicer. cons, cant really thing of any? just u'll get ur hands dirty and have to source the parts. for me, bleeding the calipers were a pain because i used 85 maxima calipers and the way it sits, the nipple was not facing 12noon so some air was still getting trapped inside. took me 2 weeks to figure out the problem. Now i have to bleed it while 1 side of the caliper is loosened and tilted up. No biggie but still a pain.

Anyone do an s14 dash into their Z?

actually i like what you have under the dash im far from a purest, but im just saying there's things to get rid of and others to keep. But it's all personal preference in the end. thats wat keeps the car club to fun and unique. otherwise we'd all have the exact same car... WWWTTTTFFFFFFFFFFFFFF that owner doesnt deserve to own an etype....

    Nice camber plate install, buddy

no, he didnt bother getting the right ones or didnt drill new holes. the camber plates installed on an angle..... should be perpendicular to the car. not 45 degrees
