  1. I have been looking at the 2.7tt to fit the S30, but turbos would have to be relocated.

Really like the idea of using a audi engine in the Datsun, but I am from europe :)

Also the R36 from Passat would be nice. Short engine and 300 hp :)

I have a Audi A4 B4 with a 3.2l from Golf in it with turbo, the sound it just great !

  2. But for now the stock turbo DOES fit onto the manifold so I will work on that throughout the week.

OT: :) so you will update your project to day 17 soon then?

    It's been a while since "3/5/2006"

Looking forward to that already :D

@ Deceeve: Thoose are usually on ebay. keep an eye on ebay in Australia also. Think Jps trading on ebay.com have sold a few of thoose.

  3. I think That I know who's i is I seen it in Super Street, a few months back

I will let you know once I find out.

I just got the last super street and there are actually 2 Z in that magazine :D

One black carbon creation and one orange with only a small picture.

Black has a sr20det red top...

They still dont beat Mark's though.

  4. so what was the consensus on the hx35? with the better head design of the rb over the L how close does anyone think it will perform compared to the hy35 on an L28

HX is the new design and HY is the old style.

Like garrett BB and old journal bearing.

I did some reading on a honda forum where they experiment with Holset.

Some good reading there, but wrong engines :)

  5. If you want more power at the same boost, head work head work head work. A friend of mine went from 590hp @ 1.8 bar (RB30ET + GT3582R 1.06 A/R turbine), to 590hp @ 1.2 bar with head mods: reshaped inlet port, 1mm OS valves, additional 20deg 0.05 duration cam). Then made 650hp @ 1.8 bar with the poor GT35R completely maxed out.

Aye, the boost only represent the amont of air that the engine wont eat.

Pretty different numbers on thoose two.

Wonder if I should get my head ported when I have it apart...

    So darn expencive.

  6. The holset's are used alot in Sweden on Volvo's and bimmers.

Alot of information on http://www.savarturbo.se but in sweedish though. haha

I'm gonna use a HX40 on my rb25det. It's pretty big and heavy so I might cut of some parts on the exhaust housing to reduce the weight.

There is a Audi 1.8l turbo with a HX35/40 here in Norway that's doing pretty good. Not sure about spoolup though.

Here are some old pics I have:

    Exhaust housing: 8.2 kg = 18lb !

  7. I remember there was a post about theese guys that run jdmenginedepot.com, but I cant find it anywhere.

Anyone have any experience with this company?

I bought a s15 gearbox of theese guys some time ago and everything went smooth. But now I am going to buy some more stuff, but just want to check around whats on the market first.

Since I live on the other side of the atlantic, I'd might just spend some time checking out who to buy from, and who not to buy from :)
