  1. My early 260z also came with the 27 spline axles. I discovered this after I went through the exercise of removing a set of 280z stubs at the wrecking yard with hand tools. Everything else was 240z suspension.
  2. 1wicked260z, What kind of electric fan is that on the radiator? Is it a taurus two speed or something else? Awesome cars!!! Alan
  3. Sorry i don't have an answer for your issues. It looks like a very nice build you have there. I was just wondering if your headers are the 1 1/2 inch or the 1 5/8ths inch headers from sanderson. I'm having spark plug clearance issues with my 1 5/8ths headers.Again sorry for off topic
  4. 280zcar Car looks great, awesome job! I also really like the color, might have to paint mine silver. What suspension are you running with those wheels and tires? Coilovers or just springs and struts? Thanks Alan
  5. Piston, You adjust timing with Tuner cat or lt1 edit and a laptop. The lt1 is not like the old sbc, all adjustments are made within the computer of the car. You will also be able to monitor everything in the engine with the laptop plugged into the obd 1 port. The optispark can be trublesome some times. You need to get the software and begin your tuning. Alan
  6. Another thing to do is after having the rotors turned, have the machinist put a non-directional pattern on the rotor face. Basicaly putting a scuff pad on a die grinder and lightly run it across the rotor surface. This will break up the harmonics of the squealing, and some good pads. Alan
  7. Looking awesome! I wish my motor was off the stand and in the car like yours. Hope to see it going down the road some day. When I get my engine in I'm sure i'll have some questions for you,as I'm also using a caprice motor and harness. Keep up the good work Alan
  8. That is so sweet sounding!!! Someday when my car grows up I want it to sound just like that!!! Alan
  9. In the Sacramento area one place to look is Blue collar supply.I dont know if they have sheet steel but they do have lots of bulk metals. Hope this helps. Alan
  10. Hoplessly confused, Look for the letter "P" in the eighth position of the vin. number. This denotes a 5.7 LT1 motor. A "W" in this location denotes a 4.3 motor. Hope this helps. As far as miles goes on ex patrol cars goes, my son has a 95' caprice with 330,000 original miles on it. Alan "9T4SS"
