  1. FYI - I contacted Powertrax and they said that they would be available mid-year, or towards the end of the year. There is a test/review in the December 2000 Car Craft on page 76/77. They said, "Going around turns, the No-slip design unlocked and produced smooth transitions. Simply said...we like." For those of us who are not hard core straight line racers, or road racers it seems like this would be a reasonable and cost effective option....

  4. I have a '77 and would like to put in more comfortable seats. I think I have read that Toyota Supra seats fit. Has anyone used them, and if so what year did they use, and what did they do about mounting? Greg SmileZ

  8. I have a '77 with a 350 and T-56. (Test fit the engine, now making sure everything fits!)I purchased the starter that JTR suggested (page 3-4 #3) GM PN 323-485 10465167. It will not fit the T-56 bellhousing and my early 350 block! What is everyone else using? I don't have a high HP 350,think it will be about 300HP. I am planning on a remote solenoid and was thinking I would use a stock starter, and not one of the mini-starters. Thanks for any suggestions? Greg SmileZ
  9. I slipped in my test fit 350 block and my T-56 transmission into my '77. I checked the difference between the trans angle and rearend, it is 4 degrees. I am using the JTR engine mounts and will build the trans mount after I determine where to mount it. I can drop the rear of the trans to make the difference less than 4 degrees. Can anyone tell me what the desired difference should be?
  10. Owen, I have attached a URL that shows the left side of a T56 and the reverse lock out. The Skipshift solenoid is about 6 inch forward from the reverse lockout on the same side. It comes straight out from the trans. Hope this helps.   11. Owen, Another option for a speedometer is a box called cable-x. It takes the output (electronic)from the t-56 and converts it (to a mechanical drive) so it will drive the stock speedometer. I have purchased it for use with my t-56, but don't know how it will work until I get it running...6 months or 2 years.
