I'm up in the high desert northwest of Barstow and was wondering how I could get rid of a non rolling body from a 73 z... I'm considering taking off all the brakes and suspension parts, but I dont want to be stuck with a 1500 or so pound lawn ornament. Any help would be appreciated. hah yea im considering some 235/60/15s but i may find some room in the back for something larger if the situation dictates, i also have a 3.54 rear.

and yes, dan juday, its much more a drag racing application than a autocross or a road race type of build, thats why i dont mind running the auto for consistency. and hey, about the original question sunny, what mount are you using? do you have an genIII/IV with an older trans?

well sunny, the thing is i like the look of the stock interior, and i also dont like the incomplete look of an aftermarket auto shifter in any car, really. i dont think it would be so bad if someone could figure out how to keep the center console in tact or make something to make it look intact, even if it wasnt stock. as for the overdrive, yea, my tolerance what makes a good driveable street car is probably way higher than most peoples, so i have no issues with a 1:1 top gear... i like the noise. plus, turbo trannies are strong, cheap, and easy to rebuild. overdrive autos are less so.

p.s. has anyone successfully used the stock z auto console and or auto shifter on a chevy trans? i really dont like the look of a big ass b&m shifter busting out of my center console.

hey all, I am currently swapping a 5.3 iron block out of a chevy truck into my 72, was wondering when using the th-350 trans, will have to use the johns cars trans mount and modify it? or can i still use the JTR th350 mount?
