  1. i was basically just wondering if anyone knew if mechine shops could mechine an alluminum block but im guessing that would be far past the boundaries of my pocket.
  2. what exactly comes with that kit? I see it has a mikuini blow through carb kit on it but the cover over the carbs has a hole in the under part of it that goes to the air filter...can you just buy the parts and put it together yourself? I mean that way you can modify the headers and put something like a GT40-60 turbo on it with a huge intercooler. Im mainly interested in the cover over the carbs cause ive seen a blow through kit on a z but the one i saw didnt have good pictures so i didnt get a good view of it. Basically what im asking is can you still get a tripple mikuini blow through kit?
  3. Ive been looking and i was wondering if you guys know of any place that sells alluminum engine blocks
  4. I was wondering if it was possible to mount a lingenfelter twin turbo 427 small block (the 350 bored and stroked) in a 240z. I mean i know that anything is possible as someone once said i was just wondering if the project would be somewhat moderate in difficulty level.
  5. Im actually thinking about doing this swap as well, I'm really interested about it because of all the room that will be left under the hood towards the nose area, should be plenty of room for a large intercooler and perfect for some aftermarket turbos.
  6. the sound of that car is down right scary, awesome build! im really impressed More then anything though i cannot wait to see the comparrison between that and the VK56DE hybrid you are building, i have high hopes and am very excited to see the unvailing of that car. Seriously though that 3.0 liter supercharged engine is someting i wouldnt ever want to pull up next to on the street...i hate to lose
  7. sorry i know you are having a lot of questions thrown at you all at once, but what kind of intercooler are you running? i like the car a lot, i particularly like how ive never heard or seen anything about it, seriously you just came out of left field, but i really like it!!!

    heads

i was wondering if it is cool to run a turbo with an MN47 head? currently have an '83zx motor in my '72 240z the motor has p90 heads. (Im sure this question is dumb but this is my first car that i can actually work on) Im curious if a p90 would be better because its turbo induction or would the MN47 be better, from what ive been reading 1fastz says that he drives around town at 7000rpms daily and has no detonation, does that mean that your car dosent overheat? cause i really want to make a turbo car out of this and the last thing im looking for is a blown-up engine.
  9. haha yea i love the maximum tune game we have them linked over where i live. if i had a scanner i'd post a pic of the car im currently running (yea its a s30 fairlady z) but the game is addictive.
  10. that is really beautiful, i know you are sobbing (or at least your bank account is) but you will come to realize it was all worth it when you drive that beast because you really cant put a price on happiness and judging by all the work you put into that...you will probably be euphoric. Im sure that if your dad could see what you are doing, he'd be happy, and soon you will be thanking him. ps: i really like those pistons, what kind are those?
  11. sorry this is a little off subject but im really glad to see a cad design it helps put things into perspective, thanks!
  12. im wondering the same as texasz, how come you are using an sx tranny? im really curious to see if those perform better (im using the term "better" loosely).
  13. yea i tried divx but the movie was very laggy, i'll try VLC, thanks!
  14. what are you guys using to view the .avi (the wangan midnight movie)? i tried windows media player but i got the wrong codec alert.
  15. oh i have a question about my 240z if anyone can help me out, i want to turbo my 240 and judging by the motor that was sold via ebay it can be done with carbs so i was wondering would i have to use a manual boost control or would i have to setup an ECU (i want to keep the carb's) somehow. Sorry im new to this kind of thing.
  16. oh and btw its the same game because its all the same characters
  17. In case anyone was wondering the game in which you are wondering about it available in the US its actually called "Maximum Tune ©" it seems a little sad but that is the whole reason why I got into 240z's actually. If anyone is interested in how the game is its pretty fun, a little addictive though (that is if you dont get the change to drive the way you can in video game often) the game is like initial D, you get to choose a car and your information is stored on a card. My fairlady Z has up to 740 horsepower. all cars max out at 800hp except the 240z (in the game its called "fairlady") and the 350z (in the game its called "blackbird") which max out at 815hp
  18. truely amazing, the first picture is so awesome looking that it makes me want so much more! if you get really into i would suggest that perhaps you build or get someone else to build a small scale model and test some aerodynamics, it just looks so beautiful and fast though its kinda scary beauty
