  1. Head arrived about 4 weeks ago and is now stashed away until engine build time.
  2. Paul, My Rebello cam came direct from Rebello Racing. All the info I have is: Quote " the cam specs are quite deceiving as the duration at 0.50 is about 226 deg, but the cam makes power like one of our bigger cams due to the unique lobe design. The lift is .487" The only other thing is the cam is a 63D cam kit. If you can find out the info, thats great. Cheers Ian
  3. Excellent Paul. I will be on the phone very shortly to sort out whats needed to get this to the UK. Hopefully we can have a quick chat when I call. No probs about using any images of my head/cam., I as others who read your input no doubt find it very helpful/informative. Thank you. Ian
  4. Hi Paul, Thanks for this great info, as I am going to need it. You mentioned setting the cam up say 0.25" and 0.30" advanced for the cam mentioned above, what would my Rebello cam advanced be? Cheers, Ian
  5. Excellent Paul. Something to place on my coffee table and stare/dribble at until it gets installed!! Any luck finding a TDC tool for me? Speak to you soon. Cheers Ian
  6. Hi Paul, Things are looking great. Are you having that "warm fuzzy feeling" about this head Paul? I am the chap in the UK who Paul is building this head for. I feel very lucky and honoured that Paul is doing this for me. I would not hesitate in recommending him. Rtzmartini, this is going to be a street engine. If you're interested, the set up runs like this; Cam spec, I quote, " The cam specks are quite deceiving as the duration at .50 is about 226 deg but the cam makes power like one of our bigger cams due to a unique lobe design. The lift is .487". Triple 48 Dellortos, Nismo header, properly tuned exhaust, flat top pistons, 1mm gasket, LD28 crank from a Maxima (brought from the US), balanced/shot peened L24 con rods, BHJ front damper, Tilton 11lb flywheel, rotating assembly balanced, ARP bolts where possible. But I have to finish restoring the rest of the car before building the engine. Cheers Ian
  7. Thanks, I am about to run a tap through, but just wanted to check that the L28 bolt fitted.
  8. Hi, I brought a second hand LD28 crank from the States a few yrs ago, and it did not come with a front pulley bolt. When the engine parts were at the machine shop they informed me that a L28 front pulley bolt I supplied would not fit, due to the thread being wrong. I have looked again, and the thread on the crank looks fine (e.g. not cross threaded) , but the thread looks a bit rounded off. (Nothing wrong with the L28 bolt). I just wanted to check that the thread is 1.5 pitch, and the crank should accept a L28 pulley bolt, before I have the thread on the crank chased out. Cheers Ian
  9. I read somewhere that the differences with the stock cam is marginal, so I don't think it is worth it. Realigning the cam towers...some people don't remove them, while others say you can. You can realign them by gradually tightening the cam tower bolts while tapping the cam towers (with the cam in) with a soft mallet, turning the cam so that it turns smoothly without getting stiffer. If it gets more resistance, untighten the cam tower bolts give the towers a tap to resettle them then carry on retightening gradually Also, before fitting the towers, make sure the bolt holes are clean, as it does not take much to muck up the thread on the aluminim head and then the cam towers can't be tightened down. I'm not an expert, maybe someone else can add more, and good luck if you are going to change the cam Ian
  10. Mom'sZ, I'm just going by seeing the pictures in the workshop manual. Its good to know that they can be taken apart easily, thanks. Though would it be easier to replace it if you can get hold of one rather take the non-working one apart? I don't know, as I have not done it.... Ian
  11. You need special tools to open these up, so I would not bother. I would take the one out of the 260, the 280zx one is completely different. I can't help you any more than that. good luck Ian
  12. Since your in Norway, where you get a fair amount of precipitation, I would consider the engine lay up kit. Helps to draw any moisture/condenstion out of the engine. http://www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.asp?productID=8373&frostProductName=2-Plug%20Engine%20Lay%20Up%20Kit Cheers Ian
  13. Try this website, which is ARP's one. The part you require will be in the catalogue. www.arp-bolts.com/ Ian
