I've used their setup twice now; once was in my old school VW Rabbit/Cabrio some 7 years ago and the other is my current 510 build. In the seven years since the install, which I thought was very straight forward, I havent had any problems with any of the components. I dont like the big box thing that sticks off the door, it looks clumsy and takes away from the lines of the door. (No offense) with the Spal setup (If done properly) you can make the lines look smooth and still have updated look and feel. Are there any other options out there

Greenmonster, Yes, the first set of panels I made do require the use of a power window setup. If you read back on some of the earlier post I made a recommendation for what I think is a perfect solution and installation is as simple as pie. The second set will be direct replacements for the factory panels with none of the bells and whistles, no sparkles and glitter or any of the other fancy stuff. I may find a way to put in a telescoping stripper pole but thats a long term goal..... Just Kidding Pete

29PGC10, No, I dont have complete doors or outer skins I only do the interior stuff for the Z's right now. Greenmonster, I would love to produce a factory panel BUT!! I put a request out there for a set of factory panels that were in decent enough shape to pull a mold from and the response was about as exciting as a Paris Hilton getting a new purse on christmas. If you guys want a factory panel I need a set of panels that are in decent enough shape (No holes, dry rot, Waves or water damage) to pull a mold from. I've tried all the local yards but there is nothing there of course, I've tried ebay but you all know what thats like. The panels would literally be a direct replacement for the factory stuff and you will be able to just pull off the factory upholstery (gently) and then bond the fiberglass to the factory upper door plate and spray glue the material in place. Someone has got to have a decent set of panels!!

I dont have any plans to produce a headliner, just the thought of trying to make something like that in the car is scary. As far as the weight of the panels goes I typically produce them with three layers of glass BUT!! I've had guys request that I only use one layer of glass and one layer of cloth. The end result is a very very very light product but you also loose some rigidity in the end. Without ever weighing them I would have to say there about the same weight as a factory panel. Pete

Does anyone know if the 2+2 doors are any longer than what I think of as the standard non back seat version of the Z.

Hey guys, Thats lots of great information! I ship all orders with the door latch cut out and the speaker hole cut out, nothing more. That way the end user can use their own/original panel to determine the exact mounting points as well as door pull mounting points etc etc... I spoke to 2fiddyz today and he's working on getting me a set of panels ...BUT if anyone is local to the San Francisco bay area and wants to send a set of panels my way ... lets make it happen, the better shape there in the better. Pete

Oh!! as far as I know the 240 260 and 280 z panels are all the same... right? the location of the lock mechanism is in a different location but the actual panel is the same. In addition you/we/I can bond the panels in the same way as the fiberglass panels. Pete

Okay, GREAT!!! sounds like you guys want some panels. SO!! can I get someone to get me those panels?? Maybe 2fiddyz?? Hey 2fiddy, call me (510) 938-8297 or PM me and set some thing up with me to get me those panels, if you pay for shipping to California Ill pay for your shipping cost to Arizona when your fiberglass/Carbon panels are complete... that sound fair?? And yes I can do Carbon Fiber, Just as an FYI for the guys that don't know carbon runs me $69 or 79 dollars per yard (I cant remember the cost as I have the last couple of yards from my last purchase)that great as the panels are roughly 17 and 5/8th inches tall and 41 and 1/4 long (thats longest point to longest point squared) Unfortunately my supplier only has carbon available in 38 inch widths, so Ill have to find a new supplier with the wider stuff in an effort to keep cost down as well as provide all of you with some really hot panels!!! YA!! 2fiddy whats up?!?!?! Pete

If thats what you guys want lets hear about. I'm more than willing to make them as long as you guys are willing to buy them. I hate to make it sound that way but making molds aint cheap and its time consuming and those of us that have worked with fiberglass know its not the cleanest thing in the world to do. What I need to make a set of molds is a set of panels that are in pretty darn good shape, the set that I just completed (with the speaker) was pretty involved because I didnt have a good set to start with so I had to recreate the entire arch in the panel from scratch (pics attached) With something as simple as the factory panel ... again I would need someone to donate a set of panels that they may or may not get back in order for me to get a solid mold from them. In exchange Ill give that person a set of panels at half the cost... fair?? Pete
