  1. Forgot the thread: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=105320
  2. Here is the very beggining of my madness.... skip all the jargon and go straight to page 11 for all the pics.... page 12 or 13 has a hot set of panels that are covered to match the seat.... SMOKIN HOT!!!! Let me Know what you think, prices are about the same.... minus the bulk buys. Pete AKA Rayven14
  3. here is a thread to some of my handy work.... I'll find the other link and attach that as well: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=134908
  4. Sure yopu can pick em up! That would save us both alot of trouble. If you guys can get enough of the 280 or S130 guys interested I would be happpy to make something unique for your rides. Pete
  5. Sorry about the delay, Carbon is still available, kinda spendy but available none the less. Well of course if you can get 7 or so guys to buy Ill give a discount of say 50 bucks an order. I think I was getting 450 for a set if the carbon fiber panels but I can let em go for .... lets say 380 for a set. But you gotta pay shipping... factor in about 30 bucks for that.
  6. Hmmmm ..... No Im not out of the fiberglass industry.... still here! I recall a huge thread last year sometime with many pages and pricing for my door panels, I can do glass and carbon. Carbon depends on market pricing for material and glass is 250 for a set plus shipping which is about another 40 bucks. If I had to guess.... carbon would get you for bout 450-500 but that depends on material cost. contact me direct if need be: probinson_2000@yahoo.com put fiberglass door panels in the title so I know its legit and not spam.
  7. Dude! that two tone is SMOKIN HOT!!! great idea and beautiful craftsmanship.
  8. Ok, As far as installing the panels, you don't need anything from your old factory panels except the metal header (that the piece that goes across the top of the door, you know where your elbow rest when your crusing down the road) See attached pic - the piece is silver and too the left of the pic. As far as attaching the two pieces (the header and the new panel) I use a simple two part epoxy for fiberglass and metal, trust me when I say that this is all you need and you don't need alot of it - a tube will set you back 3-5 dollars. Let that set up over night as most of them require an 8 hour cure time. Once thats done you can use your old panels to align the holes for the window crank, door pull and plastic push pins. You can use the factory clips or go to your local auto store and buy new plastic push pins/clips (recommended) the cost is maybe 5 dollars. I can and would be willing to drill out the holes for the panels but I wasnt sure if the holes varied from year to year. Maybe if I could get some local guys to come by we can figure it out. For the 510 guys I had a totaled door that I cut in half so I could align the panels and drill all the holes before I shipped them, so if in fact the holes are all the same from year to year I would also need a door that I could cut in half to use as a template. I would be willing to attach the header and the new panel at no cost for anyone that is willing to ship it to me with their purchase.
  9. proxlamus, You must be into photography? Yes the pics were taken at sunset and yes that reflection is both the sun and the flash. As far as more information, what would you like to know? the panels are direct replacements, I would recommend using a few rivets to attach them, and I would also paint the door header black instead of using upholstery. There is a local guy that did exactly what I just listed and his panels look amazing!! Pete
  10. I have this thread posted under "Fiberglass door panels" as well but I wasnt sure how many of you read that thread. In any event I have a set of prefect carbon fiber door panels for sale for 375 with enough material to do one other set at that price, let me know if your interested.
  11. Ok so I had a few ideas that I thought would look hot, what do you think? the carbon of course won't be covered and would make a hot accent for any other carbon used in the interior. Only one of the panels is trimmed the other is fresh out of the mold. I also have an absolutely perfect set of carbon door panels I made up this weekend, I can let them go for 375 but only cause I got a good deal on the material. I think they would look hot with a few rivets (maybe three per side, top and bottom with a nice chrome door release. If anyone is interested I have enough material for one other set at that price.
  12. Sorry I forgot to mention that they do not come upholstered but in raw form as shown. You also have to find a cup to fit in the door for the actual "pull" aparatus, I used a cup from my 05 Mitsubishi Galant.
  13. I thought I posted these once but now I can't find them. Here are a few pics to refresh your memories.
  14. I still offer the door panels with the 6.5 inch speaker provisions as well as the factory reproductions. Pricing has increased as the cost of resin continues to rise with oil now at 130 a barrel!!! Factory reproductions: 260 in fiberglass and 490 for Carbon Fiber (carbon prices have gone through the roof) Panels with speaker provisions are 260 and they're not available in Carbon as I no longer have vacuum bag access. The handles are 80 dollars for fiberglass and they are not available in carbon. Unfortunately all orders are prepaid as I've had many people flake after saying they wanted panels made. My contact information is the same: Phone, 510-938-8297 my email is probinson_2000@yahoo and my paypal is the same address. All prices include shipping within the U.S.
  15. Hello everyone, I can still make the fiberglass and carbon door panels but I'd prefer to make two or three at a time as its a pain in the butt to make 1 set of panels as its just not cost effective. If you need panels it would be best if maybe I could get a few of you to commit to ordering before I actually start production as there just isnt enough demand. Thanks for your understanding Pete
  16. Thats a hell of thing to say/write publicly. So what all brothers drive down the street in the hood with 15" subs? WOW!!!!
  17. I don't think anyone thats planning on having a sub is really that concerned about weight. how much weight are we talking about anyway? what does a ten inch woofer and a custom fiberglass enclosure weigh? 15 pounds TOPS!!!!! Thats a custom enclosure, I spoke with the owner at the Blackhawk show this year.
  18. The Fiberglass panels are $230 and the CF Upgrade is $390. The price difference is soley based up the fact that raw CF is $80 a yard. However at that price I won't clear coat or wet sand, thats extra. My paint guy charges me 50 to clear both panels with prep.
  19. Well I made these for one of the forum members here, he should be getting them this week. They turned out pretty good, in the pics theyre wet sanded and have standing water on them but they did get a few coats of clear before they shipped and looked pretty similar to the wet spots you see here.
  20. I don't advertise or market that much anymore, there just isnt enough interest in the product. Sure I have the molds and I can make you a set (hell I still have 3 sets left over) for anyone thats seriously interested in ordering. As far as the previous post goes with the question re: vibrating and sound quality, I installed a set of the original designed panels for the 510 over two years ago. The sound quality far exceeds anything in the flat factory panel and I've personally removed and inspected and reinstalled speaker upgrades to the same car and the Fiberglass is holding up very well. Think about it like this: The new Corvette body is almost all fiberglass and Im sure it takes a beating. Fiberglass is tough stuff when layed properly Pete
  21. Go to http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=105320 for all the details. Basically a set will cost you 230 and they direct replacement for the factory originals.... and Im sure thats great news for all the nostalgic folks here on the forum that have door panels with holes, dry rot or just plane distorted. If after you read through the forum and want more info or want to order a set you can reach me at probinson_2000@yahoo.com or drop me a line at 510-938-8297 and my name is Pete Thansk for you interest and good luck with your builds
  22. OK, I did it! the molds are complete for the direct stock replacement panels. Like I said before the cost is 230.00 for a set and will ship within 3 days of ordering depending upon number of orders. Let me know if any of you are interested and Ill get busy working on a few sets. Also there seems to be some interest form the 280ZX guys for panels with provisions for speakers, I spoke with mrkopsho and he said he would try to find out how many guys are interested in getting these made. Let me know what your plans are and Ill see what I can do FYI Im also going to post this in the interior section for all the guy that dont come to the body and paint section Pete
  23. Mrkopsho, Good work, I like the upper storage Idea you go goin there. Sorry to hear some loser ripped you off, do you have an alarm or anything? I'm definately not in a situation where I wouldnt have an alarm of some sort. I have way to much time and money wrapped up in my car to have some "ASK HOLE" tear it up Oh by the way the panles are done and I'm making the molds this weekend, actually I'll probably be doing that tonight so I can have them ready for next week. For anyone thats interested the price is the same as the last set of panels at 230.00 for a set. PM me here or give me a call for more info. Pete 510-938-8297
  24. Ok all, Looks like Greenmonsters panels will work after all, they were pretty hammered .... as in two seperate pieces and all. BUT!! the lower halfs were in good enough shape that I decided to bond the pieces together repair the damaged holes and warping on the lower halfs and start with the Bondo and sanding. I'll post pics tommorrow of the beggining stages and go from there, I would say that I should have a viable mold within the next 7 to 14 days. Greenmonster, Ill be sure to keep those upper door supports for you. I'll keep you all posted.
  25. Greenmonster, Thats not Carbon Fiber you sent me, That a piece of material that NASA forgot to attach to one of the Stealth Fighters. Dude that stuff is BRUTAL!! The stuff I usually buy is probably half the weight of the stuff you sent me. I havent had a chance to get it in the mold to determine if it will make the curves for the speaker or door pull recess but I will do that later this week. Dude, as far as the panels go.....ehhhhh its not lookin real good with those. They dont have alot of waves or dry rot but they are split right down the middle into two complete halves. I'll give them some time as well later this week to determine if in fact I can get them to work for the mold .....In all honesty ..... I greatly appreciate you getting them to me but they're not in the best shape. None the less thank you and I'll put fourth my best effort. I'll PM you later this week or drop a line on the public forum with an update later this week. Pete
