  1. This is just a WAG but what about the gasket that goes between the sump and block! If I remeber right it wasnt included in my engine gasket kit and I had to make one! Maybe it is sucking air into the filter????? but wouldnt think you would have pressure unless its air pressure????

  2. yes the VR for the 77 is behind and underneath the metal frame that the fusable links attach to, also check your fuse in the fuse box and also your fusable links, all 4 they will cause some stupid problems, if they are not tight and have a good connection! And ditto on the ZX internal alt coversion, done 2 and well pleased!

Zfever, if you dont find them PM me in a couple days, I believe My son is going to part out his 73 240, he has screwed it up for the last time it appears, broke the frame behind the front right rear, enough is enough but if he is going to get another ride I dont see any option but to part it and sell to help with cost, its a shame it started out decent!

  4. Katman, would you expound on the MSD thing, I just aquired a 77 that has MSD on it, and pulled the crappy autolite plugs out and put in NGK @ .0045. Dont know anything about the MSD, gotta find the rev limiter thing so I can change it, it is set @ 6000, NOT ENOUGH!!!!!!!!

  5. Drop the steering column by removing the 2 bolts at the bracket, this gives you alittle more cleareance. the tach and speedo are attached with 2 screws each, one thru the face plate at the top and 1 on a bracket under the dash, pull the tach out fowards and then you can stick your hand thru the tach hole and remove the speedo cable and the speedo!

  6. Common denominator here appears to be the holly bypass type regulator, had same prob here! also running adiff elect pump at tank (cant rember brand) and mechanical on engine! with guage installed in regulator.am using the bypass port back to tank return.
