  1. guys there are alot of options for older R12 systems out there. I do heat/air and refrigeration. R414B (hotshot) RB276 (freeze one) Most HVAC guys carry one or the other and most glad to charge for you, but wont work on anything else that may be a prob, they will tell you to take it to a shop .
  2. Thanks brokebolt,I was beginning to think I was a Lepper or something! Well I think the prob was the elect pump. I removed it and changed the tank hoses. The problem of dropping press seems to have stopped. Still only getting 3.5 lbs press from mechnical pump buy have not tried to adjust since the changes were made. Havent checked the pressure build up yet on this tank of fuel, but did manage 18 mpg on the last one, Ill check the press build up next time I get it out to drive. All the lines are correct, yes I do have the FSM. Still playing with setting on everthing, but trying them one at a time to guage effects. just checked the plugs and 1-5 are a "TAD" lean but not bad. 6 was alittle rich but think that may have been a bad plug wire not firing all the time. Ill keep this updated as I go along. still have a smalll miss at idle type speeds that driving me nuts. But cant speek as to the age and condition of the tune up items that were already on the car. Have a new set of plug wires, cap and rotor for unilite on order so gonna wait till they arrive for futher adjustments. (easy stuff first)

    Air Flow Meters

Dont know where you are but I have one I just took off my 77 when I swapped Engines ! Had ZERO problems with it. Alos have the complete fuel injection setup. Dcwalk3@hotmail
  4. hey guys, pulled the engine out of my 77 and dropped in a modified 2600 with triple webbers and having acouple issues. have added a fuel regulator with a bypass funtion, used the line with fitler as the feed , used the other line that was on the fuel rail as the "Bypass" line. rubber capped the line that went to the "Tank vent" on The "vacumm/carbon Canister". Using the mechanical fuel pump with the 2600. DID NOT remove the electric fuel pump. first issue is I can onlt get 3lbs psi out of the mechanical fuel pump, is this standard? next is occasionally the engine will start bogging down down down and then die, like it is getting no fuel or missing on half or more cylinders. Pumping pedal has no effects or makes it die quicker. and at this time the fuel tank has an "ENORMOUS" amount of pressure built up, enough to blow the cap acouple feet when you lossen it. when it dies you can open the cap and release pressure and take off the rubber cap off vent line and starts and runs fine. even with the rubber cap left off the tank builds big pressure. Dont like the issue of having an open/uncapped line in the engine compartment. Any inputs/advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    2600 RARE Find

It has about 30,000 miles since the rebuild which included: Triple Weber 40 DCOE two barrel carburetors. with K&N Air Filters Bored 0.030" over New Wiseco pistons and rings ARP rod bolts New main & rod bearings New oil pump etc. E-88 head with all new guides; all valve seats replaced with hardened steel inserts. Erson Cam and new rockers/followers (I forgot the cam specs but have them in a file) Mallory Unilite distributor - Centrifugal advance 6:1 header Alternator, fuel pump, starter etc. Centerforce dual clutch. All this stuff goes with it. The motor currently has a 5 speed attached ('83 ZX) and it works very well with the 3.54 rear. You will need to change throwout bearing assemblies if you want to use an earlier four speed(could use the one you have) as the later ones are longer and will keep the clutch from engaging. I learned this the hard way. I also have a drive shaft, motor mounts, voltage regulator, electric fuel pump, new radiator, spare 280-Z radiator and a bunch of other used but good parts that would be included. I guess it would be sort of a spring cleaning sale. I have about $6,000 in the motor HEHEHEHEHE 1500 for everything

  11. can I assume that you would modify the valve cover to except one of those and the block tube to accept the otherr and pipe/hose them both to the collector?
  12. Dont mean to hijack this thread but could use suggestions! will try to add a pic of my setup also. 77Z with a 2600 engine, bored 30 over, e-88 head mild cam, cannon intake , trip webers 40 DCOE. Would like to make sure the valve cover vent and the side pie vent are done correctly. any inputs. dont see many ways to do it do to lack of ports on the cannon.http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=7742
