Some of you know that I drove from upstate NY to Memphis last summer with my son Alan to attend ZCON 2015. During my first session lapping at MIR a lifter collapsed. We fiddled a bit with it and it eventually corrected itself but I drove gingerly in order to ensure I could drive it home.
Arrival home ok and dropped it to have the lifters/guides replaced & upgraded to LS7 as I've read the stock LS1 lifters are prone to failure [part of my ongoing quest to make the LS1 more durable], I also had them install ARP head studs and new head gaskets.
Fast forward to last week; Z now out of winter hibernation, initial startup and all my lifers are talking and zero oil pressure. Shut it down, check oil [i change my oil each fall prior to storage] which is good, restart and after about 5 seconds [feels like forever] my oil pressure climbs to 25 and lifters are quiet.
Long story short I drop it to the shop again and they determine that the oil pump is not supplying sufficient pressure. When I first did the swap I had the oil pump inlet & outlets ported for better flow. They also installed a new cam retainer plate [while in there]. Now I have instant and higher oil pressure at startup as well as better pressure at higher RPM's.
Other upgrades for reliability & durability: double row timing chain, oil catch can/separator.

Andy, thinking I need these for my 72 Fairlady!

I like the way these look. Does anyone know if they make more power then MSA headers and are they built better. I'm getting ready to buy a set and just thought I'd ask the question.
I can't verify power vs. the MSA headers [6>1] but can verify the material & build quality - which are top notch.

I'm in awe...

That clinches it, we're moving - that place next door still available?!

Thanks Dan, indeed I do have a complete set! Few different options and I take "trade in's" too. Email me for pics, etc.

Curious as to the manufacturer. Did any of the packaging indicate this? Asking because I've tried the brand [Precision, green color printing on the bags] that MSA sells, they fit but you have to slam the doors.

I keep asking myself, when will Andy run out of ideas, but they continue to roll in! Love it, keep 'em coming! Pretty soon I'll have to ask which I can purchase for my z.

Which chrome mirror do you desire? Stock for the 240z [door mounted] or fender mirrors? I have both new in boxes, please email me if interested.

Few pics from today. Finally got around to removing the existing exhaust to test fit the new, determine sensor bung location & such.
Fitment is wonderful and looks great. Next step is to cut the rubber hangers to the correct length, drill mounting holes then finalize the install. After that, reinstall the carbs & fire it up!

Sam, I have a 6-2 MSA header, solid but needs paint to be pretty. I'll take a picture today, shoot me an email so I can send it to you.

I too was running the Hawk HP+ and found them extremely dusty & corrosive. Switched this season to Raybestos ST-43. Significantly less dust, easy to modulate, less pedal effort nearing max braking and easy on the rotors with minimal pad wear!

They're still available as of 10:20am Eastern time, $425 shipped within the USA.
-
Yes, still available and ready to ship - email me for details.
Still available? If so how much?

I have a pair, new in boxes. Email me: palermodavid13@gmail.com
You'll find that purchasing from yahoo Japan will be more expensive than the price you were quoted from Canada. A few on ebay as well, also more expensive.
