  1. If anything, I would just make sure everything about your current brakes are in tip top shape. Perhaps that means new rotors and pads, new hoses etc. The stock z brakes are actually pretty good. I had the willwood setup on my last z, but that saw some serious lapping.
  2. I have this setup and I like how it turned out. Eibach/tokico illumina. I dont autocross, just spirited driving and cruising.

This is my 1976 datsun 280z
  4. Yeah...i had a heck of a time sourcing mine for my project. I did find some from shox.com in the winter. I am one of the lucky ones I guess. I've still yet to put them on the car. I have too many projects on the go.
  5. Thanks for posting spiff. That looks a lot better than stock, but i see what you mean. It looks like you got about a 1" drop. At least compared to how my car sits now. My 76 280z looks like a monster truck. I am hoping to hide another 1/2-3/4" with the flares I put on and run the illuminas on a stiff setting. I dont track my car, just building it to be a nice looking, driving and sounding z.
  6. I am going to install the same springs in the fall in my 280z along with the illumina shocks and bump stops, bump steer spacers, urethane bushings etc. Did the springs settle anymore? 3/4 seems like the kind of drop you get just after you take the car off the jacks before they settle. I had H&R springs on my probe GT and they took a good week or so to settle in. I've heard everything from 3/4" to 2" for these springs. I guess I will find out soon. Post before and after pics if you can.
  7. Hi there, I am looking for a set of lowering springs for a 76 datsun 280z. Something that gives me a 1-1.5" drop. Eibach, Tokico etc. If anyone has some for sale or knows of where I can purchase (in stock)...please let me know. Thanks! Rich
  8. get in touch with Kim Bong. he will give you the 100% accurate answer.
  9. check this link: http://www.racinglab.com/rota-rb-280z.html
  10. Sure, if you want...if you dont mind the drive to freezing cold Ottawa . I would just go ahead and order them if i were you, before they are gone. you will be glad you did. already have the flares sitting in the basement...gonna sand and paint them satin black. Rich
  11. Rims just arrived. Merry Christmas to me. They look even better in person, and will look great on my z. After seeing these, I really am glad I went with 17". Flares are on the way.
  12. I ordered the hyper black. I hope that is what I am getting lol. Yeah, 275 is too wide for me. I think I will end up with 245 all around. I may go wider in the back eventually just because you can with a 9.5 rim. I don't want it too look odd, like a jacked up hot wheels car so i am leaning to the 245. I have a 255 on the rear of my daily driver and it looks big, and that car is a bigger car (IS350).
  13. Not sure yet. Might try to squeeze a 225 on the front and go 255 on back. Most likely end up with 235/45 front and 255/40 back. or 245/40 all around (closest to stock rolling diameter). I put this together for ref: stock: 195/70/14 24.7(diameter), speedo 225/45/17 = 25 0.9% too slow 235/45/17 = 25.3 2.3% too slow 245/40/17 = 24.7 0.1% too fast 245/45/17 = 25.7 3.8% too slow 255/40/17 = 25 1.1% too slow 275/35/17 = 24.6 0.7% too fast 275/40/17 = 25.7 3.7% too slow
  14. My order is going through, should be on my doorstep within a week. After payment, its about a week or so to ONtario, Canada. Everything is pretty smooth so far. Kim is good to deal with, like others said, not a man of many words, and he is busy, but you'll get your product and a good deal if you are patient. I'll be the only one in my city with this setup for sure... Now to order some fender flares.. Rich
  15. In case anyone else is interested in ordering a set... Just an update. I've been in contact with Kim to order a set of these. Last word was that they are on back-order until around mid Nov (now). Haven't heard back from him yet, but I am sure he will reply soon. Sometimes takes a few days. Anyway, there could be a further delay, but I am thinking they will be good to go before spring...i am hoping at least lol. Rich
