  1. Car like that here would be around 4500 and probaly sold.

The tripple carbs are nice but the selling point is the low rust. Ask anyone here that has redone one what they would have done differently if they had to do it again. I bet 70 percent would say spent more money and bought a less rusty z

  2. Well ordered my Megasquirt I pcb 3.0 off ebay. (auction) Decided to buy it from a seller that was only 10 miles from my house to save on shipping. Turns out he works with Al Grippo which is one of the designers for the Megasquirt project. HA small world I didn't know that bgoslex is right down the road.

Need to pick his brain when I pick it up tomorrow. I think he has some more beta programs that isn't out for MSII yet. He said he just finished a knock sensor one that retards the ignition when it gets too high.

  3. If you are skeptical on a couple things a stock head gasket isn't that much.

I would pop the head back off. I rebuilt a 22re last month and was a little wary of my rings. One didn't seem like it went in just right and it didn't slide as smooth as the other pistons, it smoked for a month before it finally sealed. Hopefully it was just because I used moly rings.

  4. If your bore is 86mm and the new rings are coming up with measurements of 4mm end gap that should be .2 to .4 you have wrong parts.

I would send back the pistons and rings and then email Danny Datsun and let him know he sent the wrong pistons also. No business should have a policy of not letting customers return parts if they are the wrong parts.

What are your old pistons and rings end gapped to when they are in the block?

  5. My car in high school was a 1989 Jeep Cherokee w/160,000 miles. Head gasket started leaking. I replaced the gasket put it in backwards and blocked every water passage in the head. I thought it was just holding air and kept trying to get it to burp. After 12 hours of running it right to red line on the water gauge finally broke the head off again and felt like the world's biggest dumbass. Especially when my dad owned a semi and tractor shop and had a lot of 30+ year mechanics working. The mechanics are still laughing at me.
