  1. i have a '73 240z and i put toyota calipers on the front along with stainless brake lines from MSA

    the problem is i can't get any fluid to come out of the bleeder...i can't even get air to come out

    can the stock master cylinder not provide enough push to get the fluid out through the bleeder in these new calipers?

    any insight at all is appreciated

  2. okay...i want to wire in a ignition cutoff switch and put it in my ash tray (as a security feature)

    i want to be able to flip the switch when i get out of the car and have no power going to the ignition so there is no chance of it being able to start

    does anyone have any suggestions on how i could go about doing this?

    i don't have too much experience with electrical systems so your input is very welcome

    i guess there isn't a way to obtain the stock "screwed up" rotors for my car, huh?...

    so does this mean if i get the rotors i'm finding locally i'd need to change to a different hub (the part that holds the wheel bearings) to maintain the total offset

    if so, do u know a place to get new/good used hubs

    also, how do i identify one hub from another?

    and do the different hubs use the same wheel bearings and seals?....

    or, is there a special modification (ie. adding spacers, machining) that u've heard of that works?

  4. i have two 73z's (one manufactured 9/72 and the other 12/72)

    i'm looking for new replacement front break rotors

    i've been to every auto parts store i can think of (checker, autozone, BAP, napa, etc.) and they all list a different sized rotor for the 73z then what is on my car

    since i have two cars with the same rotor i'm assuming it's a stock part and not some sort of weird custom thing

    the hub of the rotor off my car protrudes 1&1/2" from the rest from the face of the rotor

    the ones the auto parts stores have told me fit my car have hubs that protrude approximately 1&1/4" from the rotor

    can someone give me some insight on what's going on here and point me in the right direction for finding the part i need?

  5. what is the best way to obtain a louvered hood?

    should i try to graft some louvers from a 280zx onto my 240z (i don't have much body work experience so i'm not sure how difficult it would be) or should i just try to obtain a louvered 280z hood to replace mine?

  6. i found this guy danny in oregon who supposedly has a junk yard with loads of z's in it

    he quoted me a price of $490 for a 5-speed and a driveshaft

    my question is - do any of you guys have any experience dealing with this guy, and if so, was it a good or bad experience

    also, is this a good price for these items?

  7. i've heard that putting a 5 speed in a 240z puts the shifter further back on the tranny tunnel

    so my question is, can u use a center console out of a 280z to accomodate the change in position of the lever and still have it match up to the rest of the dash

  8. I need all u suspension experts to help me out...

    I've got progressive rate springs on my 240z and i was told they were tokico when i bought the car.

    The car is very low though and there is almost no suspension travel and the ride is harsh.

    I have the motorsport 3 into 2 header and am running 2 1/2" exhaust and the car bottoms out over every speed bump.

    What is a good suspension package (ie. struts, springs, sway bar, etc.) that will: raise the car so i won't scrape the exhaust but still have it a little lower than stock, firm ride but not bone jarring, and keep the back end from squatting too much under acceleration?

  9. i have a '73 240z and the tranny is about to die on me

    i want to take a 5spd from a 280z and the r200 and swap it into my car

    what parts will i need to make this swap? what year 280 is the best one to get the tranny and differential from? pros and cons of doing this swap? problems i might encounter?

  10. i find a way to take out the factory radio from my 240z without braking all the plastic

    i tried taking out the fuse box but that didn't help any

    and i can't figure out how to get the face plate on the instrument panel detached from the heater

    please help me!
