  1. Depending on pricing I might pick a couple up. Who knew an oil pan could be such an investment, lol.
  2. Alright fellas, looks like we'll have to wait another day. It's cold and raining/sleeting/snowing outside so I don't feel like walking out to the garage.
  3. I think Hyundai is going to sell a TON of these things. They basically have the market to themselves. The US has been needing a RWD coupe in the $20-$30k range for a long time now. The turbo 4 cylinder will be the hot ticket I believe, I'm just afraid they'll be EVERYWHERE due to parents buying them for their kids. It might turn into the new SRT-4, lol. As far as reliability is concerned, if it comes with the 10yr/100k warranty then I wouldn't be worried about it. The biggest concern will probably be what mods will void the warranty.
  4. How well do you think the RB20 will spool those? I know they're pretty small turbos, but 1L of displacement per turbo seems pretty low to me. I really hope it works well though, I may have to take some ideas from your setup.
  5. Alright, the dipstick that I pulled out of one of my shortblocks was right at 19.5 inches. That's the overall length, including the handle. I don't have time to go measure the rest (I have a whole box of dipsticks), I've got to get going for work. I may be able to see if I have anymore tomorrow, but it will more than likely be Sunday before I'm able to do so.
  6. Well a quick way to check the coils would be to wrap them in electrical tape, it should stop any arcing that would occur. I know you said they're new, but I'm just throwing ideas out there. I found the thread I was talking about and it seems most of it was directed toward high RPM misfires. If you'd like to take a look though, here you go: http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/353364
  7. Bad idle, running rich, have you checked all your vac lines? I read something over on nicoclub about the stock coils actually arcing through themselves to the valve covers. Seems a lot of guys are using some sort of epoxy to seal them up. I'll dig around over there and see if I can find it again.
  8. I'll try to get out to the garage and measure one in the morning. Odds are I have several of them out there, I'll let you guys know what I find.
  9. Ballin BIGTIME!!! Gonna be one heck of a car when you're done! I'm jealous.
  10. I guess for once the random info that I picked up was correct!
  11. I noticed that he used aftermarket manifolds in that link. From what I've heard the stock GTR manifolds won't fit on an RB20 head. This is only hearsay, and I can't remember the reasoning behind it. I have a set of GTR manifolds and an RB20 longblock in the garage so I'll go and check it out tomorrow afternoon if you'd like. Keep in mind though, this will be just the manifolds on a longblock that's sitting on an engine stand, so chassis specific fitment will be nill. So I guess I can really only determine if the manifolds bolt to the head, but if you'd like I'll check it out.
  12. Holy crap, talk about a handful! I probably would have been throwing the chutes at the 660' mark!
  13. Very cool. Did you use OEM sensors or did the SDS setup come with the sensors you needed? Sorry for all the questions. I just picked up a large lot of mostly RB parts that included an RB20 longblock but no harness. I'm trying to get a feel for what I would be getting myself into if I were to try to go the painless route.
  14. So you replaced the entire engine harness with the painless harness? How much of a PITA was that to accomplish?
