  1. Whew thanks for putting my mind at ease. Welding up the spring perches now. Guess I'll see if I took too much off or not soon.
  2. Figured I'd atleast update this. Decided to take out 1.5in out of the housing. I had a hard time doing measurements on the car for a few reasons, but that's what I came up with. This is taking the front strut hats being using on the rear. Overall diameter of my tires seems to be 24.25" tall. I like my cars alittle lower then most. One thing that scares me is these koni struts. Bought them new but they are very easy to push down and then don't come up on their own. I dunno if they are good or not.
  3. Car har 235-40-17's. Everything fits, car had coilovers and these wheels and everything else besides these koni race struts. With tokico struts before but with the full spacer so no sectioned strut everything fit. Coil was kinda spun very low and I just didn't care for how it handled. If I could have gotten another set of tokicos I would have and just sectioned the housings the way johnc and a few others said to do it. But i don't see much info on these koni's and even less talk about sectioning struts on non flared cars. Thanks
  4. Anybody have just alittle input on this? Right now my fronts have the tokico mr2 insert, with the strut housings sectioned to fit them. I don't have any problems with the front wheels which are also 17x9.5. But with these KONI inserts being so short for the rear I don't want to cut too much. Seems like not many section there struts when running no flares and bigger wheels.
  5. I searched but wasn't coming up with answers that might help me out. I'm doing the rear suspension on my 280Z right now. Parts i have: GC coilover sleaves, 300lb 8in springs, Koni 8610-1437 race strut inserts, 280z front top hats, new spring perches, all the bushings and what not. Now these koni inserts are very short compared to the Tokicio's i'm replacing. I know ill have to make a spacer to the bottom of the insert but what i'm concerned about is how much to take out of the strut housing. car has custom 17x9.5in wheels and im not running flares. i don't want to take too much out and have the car sitting on the tires with the spring adjusted all the way up. Im looking at removing 2in's out of the housings now and just running a bigger spacer on the bottom of the insert. stock 280z ID of housings is roughly 18 1/4in these koni inserts are 13in tall. so removing 2in should net me with a 3 1/8 spacer. all this just to do a burn out....... crazy thanks for any help.
  6. A leak would mean you have no boost or boost falling off. Sounds like a bad MBC.

  8. the apt turbo 4in vband setup worked just fine on my hy35w. using stock 4in vband off turbo.

  11. I guess I'll have to get some up. One draw back of using a phone for all your Internet needs. Exhaust exits there because of where the turbo sits. Trust me I rather have all that noise going out back but you make due with what you have I guess.
  12. I know of burns but their just out of my price range. Na no pictures. No computer or camera. It's not much to see anyways compared to what others have on this site.
  13. Dynomax has there bullet muffler that they offer in 4in but it's too long. So might buy it and shorten it up some. I had there 3in one on my old setup and while it flowed great, it really didn't quiet the car down that much. Oh well, it's not a daily driver anyways.
  14. I'm missing my plug for my turbo dizzy and I need to wire it up to my MSnS. Now there's 4 prongs and I know I gotta use all but one but I'm stumped on what one is what. I searched and there's no answer that helps me on this. Most pictures I see aren't very clear either. Any help would be great.
  15. I've got over 30 different kind of wheels, and suede goes bad quick. Sparcos suede wheels really get destroyed quick.
  16. Ordered a few sets of wheels from them. All came damaged, they told me they filer a clam when they didn't, also redrilled the wheels incorrectly. So never again.
  17. My exhaust exits on the driverside of my front airdam... Only 16inch long. So not your run of the mill setup. Hence why I need such a short muffler.
  18. Might have to buy one and cut it down, but then I doubt it'll quiet down any at all. Haha, the things you do to be "different".
  19. That's not stretch to me . Rbwheels.com has some nice stuff but I'd never deal with them again. Also memoryfab.com, and eBay always scores nicely, more so if you go on japans site.
  20. I'm kinda lost on what I can do to hush up my z some. I've been looking for a muffler for my 4in exhaust that's very short, because of where my exhaust exits but can't find anything that would fit. So got me wondering how I could make my own and yet something that will flow great and quiet this damn thing up, but I'm at a loss.
  21. On a turbo motor you do want a heavier flywheel. It will bring boost on sooner with a heavier load on the motor. It most likely won't do much to your engine if your running a factory to smallish turbo. A light flywheel will make for a more rev happy fun daily motor though. I have a 8lb with a very heavy duty clutch, so it makes for a race car feel that some ppl don't like but I enjoy it.
  22. Plus you can't run a roof rack if you shave them off. Then again I'm most likely the only person on here that even thought about a rack for a zed.
  23. Well its not your tipical setup, so a lot of late night beer nights are ahead of me. Full 4in downpipe and exhaust (turbo is relocated). Ez-wiring harness install. Figure out what to do about blowing trannys. Finish intercooler mounting. Finish frame rail notices. Coilovers installed. Brakes installed. Flush all fluids. Install line lock. Install meth system. Finish nitrous install. And afew little things. Brakes and suspension work I can finish up in less then a day, same with the intercooler sprayer and what not. Alky system is gonna take abit as I want to make it look right. My miller welder just broke on me the other night so I gotta order the part to fix it, so that's gonna set me back some. Also I never tuned with meth before, and really haven't fooled with MSnS in a long long while. Plus its just me that's doing all this, no friends to lend a hand or anything...
  24. Well I'm at my last straw with this car. With the way things are in this country with no jobs and crap money, if something goes south with this car it goes on ebay. Can't believe I've got over 25 grand in this car already and it hasn't ran in years nor is it 100% done. Depressing
