-

-
rota grid 16x8 +10 offset? isnt 8 too big?
-
oo i like those but i really want some 17"s lol maybe ill call them and see what else they have
-
haha yeah i posted that cuz i was curious if -3? man this rim stuff is killing me lol. so basicly im looking for 17x7 with 4.5 backspacing and a 0 offset. i might just hafta buy the adapters lol. my z is in my signature. its hard im looking for some nice 5 spoke 17's but i think im being forced to get those adapters now. hmm ill keep looking i guess lol. if you guys spot anything pretty cool let me know. im looking for the big rim low profile tire look but i want it to fit of course prefferably without the adapters. but yeah. thanks so much for the help!

what if the wheel is a 12+ offset? would that work?
-
ya. thank you i'll figgure it out. the header i have looks exactly like the stock one so ill just say i replaced it with a stock lol. oh well ill keep the old header just in case too. thanks again!

Besides measuring the levels of noxious fumes rolling out of our tailpipes, the smog technician also performs a visual inspection. He's checking for aftermarket parts that might be bypassing or altering pollution controls, like oxygen sensors or catalytic converters. As long as the performance accessories do not alter these smog-controlling systems, then you're in the clear.
as far as im concerned headers dont alter the smog controling systems right? my headers have the emissions hole like the sensor and stuff so it shoudl be fine. is the premuffler built into the old headers though? or is it a seperate thing like
old headers---->premuffler---->muffler
or
old headers/premuffler---->muffler
im saying can i add my headers and still have the premuffler attached? cuz i think its going to be too loud if i have headers straight to a flowmaster
-
even if i just said i sprayed it black? or what if i sprayed rust paint on it? lol
-
lol im screwed then. ill try and find some with a 0 offset. oh well thx for the help
-
whered u get your spacers at? i kno the modern motorsports ones but those are pretty pricey and im a student with a tiny budget lol. i need them for like 50 bucks lol
-
okay i thought i would need those. is there anywhere else to order them besides modern motorsports? (im a student with a tiny budget) so basicly the z needs a 4x114.3 with a 0 offset? i can fit the 17x7s on with no problem right?

i dont know too much about rims and backspacing and such but i have a 1979 280zx that i want to put rims on. the ones i were looking at are:
These are the different sizes they come in:
Style :
ADR BATTLE EXE
Size : 15x6.5, 17x7, 18x7.5,19x8.5
Color : Black w/ Polished lip, Gun Metal w/ Polished lip, Silver w/ Polished lip
PCD : 10H 5x100 / 5x114.3, 8H 4x100 / 4x114.3
Offset : +35, +40 , +48
Whats the size i should get? im leaning at the 17x7 does it even fit on my car? i know the z is a 4x114.3 but i dont know about offset. any help would be great. thanks!

so ill leave the k&n intake and the headers on and just say i painted the stock headers cuz they were rusting. and the flowmaster shoudl be fine? thanks guys!
dosent a premuffler make it quieter like a resonator? or am i a moron? lol i think the 40 series flowmaster is gonna be loud enough. correct me if im wrong

wow thats crazy my dad gave me my z. he bought it in 79 and it sat in our drive way for 10+years and i randomly started it up one day and it started right up. changed all the lines, got it painted, and its kickin pretty good now. whered you get your rims from? ive been tryin to get rims for a while but i guess the size hard to find or i need adapters? ur z is tight btw lol
-
lol i love you thank you. that helps so much. does his zx run any quicker with that stuff on it?

crappp i talked to pacesetter today and their not approved by CARB. I think im going to just say i just painted the oem header cuz it looked so bad. lol i know ppl have pulled that off so its worth a shot. or i might do the rust paint. cali makes this so damn hard. i cant believe they changed the 30 year law too. so stupid! i put up a craigslist to buy a carb sticker. maybe i can buy one? i dont know. anyone know a friend who does smoggingin the bay area? im installing a 40 series flowmaster. so it goes aftermarket headers---> premuffler--->flowmaster how loud do u think it'll be?
-
aw crap i already bought a pacesetter header from craigslist. is there anyway to get another carb sticker? i know pacesetter headers are carb approved or whatever. do i need one for my K&N filter too? how about flowmaster? or just the headers? thanks so much

I have a 1979 280zx with a premuffler instead of a catback. It passes smog now, but I am putting on pacesetter headers (with the 02 sensor) and a flowmaster muffler. Will it still pass smog? the car was bought in North Dakota 20 some years ago so theres just a premuffler. What do you guys think?
