I spent about 6 months searching around ebay.au and ebay.uk looking for a header. Finally found one on ebay.au for around 375 shipped iirc which was brand new made for an r33. I bought it not knowing if it would even fit in the engine bay and of course it didnt. It hit the fire wall so I cut it down to get it re-welded so that was ok. Then the nut on the steering arm would hit when turning the wheels so I had to grind that half way down. Despite all that bs it was definatly worth it. I havn't been on the dyno since the motor was first put in but seat of the pants feel tells me there was a pretty big improvement, id guess 20 or so whp/tq..
Well its been about a year since I installed my dash cap and now theres a 3 inch crack right in the rear middle area. This thing was a pain to install and now looks like I have to do it again. Ive never had it in the sun for extended periods of time and it spends 6 days a week in the garage. Maybe the garage got to hot? Anyone else have this happen?
Just a couple before and after shots of the hood area. You can see the water spots pretty good here, pita to get off. Rear strut tower is on order. Wheels should be here next week, tires will be ordered monday.
And about 4 coats of wax later.
Motor was somewhat dirty under the valve cover but cam lobes looked good. Air conditioning front condensor was removed and radiator was swapped for one from an NX2000 which is about twice the size as stock. Water wetter was added in w/ 50/50coolant. PCV valve & hose changed. Front Prothane motor mount installed.
For reference: New spark plugs BKR6E, dist cap & rotor, valve cover gasket, fuel filter, vac lines, K&N filter cleaned & re-oiled, oil changed with Mobil 1 5w30 Full Synthetic, gas 91 oc
