  1. >>The new 240Z/260z/280z RB25/RB26 swap kit are ready for sale, we have mount kits, driceshafts, radiators, intercooler. <<

Hey, there is a typo on your site, Its driveshaft... unless that is some custom drive shaft for ricers, in which case maybe it is a driceshaft :o)

  2. Shout out to all our friends in NC. Y'all know who you are.

And here is some friendly advice to everyone. Even with Paypal, if you purchase something of value, use the option to put the charge onto your credit card. The effect is that the charge will go through paypal, but the source of funds with be viza or mastercard or someone like that. Your credit card has THE BEST fraud protection of anyone. If you get ripped off, your credit card co will usually step right in and give you a refund, bc they have insurance for fraud loss and bc they lose hundreds of millions if not billions per year in fraud loss so they are used to paying out.

Hope this helps. And for the record, this Edwards putz aside, people in the Z community are among the most friendly and helpful people i have ever dealt with anywhere. I have bought tons of Z parts on the net over the years and have been burned very few time (maybe even never by the classic z guys).

    Here is to us all.

  3. Hey,

If you have an address, call the NC State Attorney General's Office. My bet is that they are not that busy down there and that they would be interested to know that they have an internet criminal who has that many posts of google. The AGs are interested in this type of crime, in part bc its kind of unique for them and AGs like to do cases that are not all the same. Give them a shot. My bet is you get some action...

  4. Not that i am opposed to the idea, but does anyone really think they are going to sell some crappy old z with fresh paint and $2k worh of upgrades and stereo equip for $10K? Is this a new phenomenon? I cant recall how many cars i have seen recently that fall into this class.

If you want to see a $10k z car you can check one out now on ebay. It is a mint 70 with like 40k original miles and a bare metal restoration. Compare that to the white car that someone just posted on this site (no offense to the seller of that car), but if someone can get more than $5 or $6 k for a car like the white one i am going to give up my law practice and start selling z cars for a living

    peace y'all

  5. although you probably wont apreciate this, the best money you can spend on your car is on your brakes and suspension.

If you have the zx motor running good, just stage I that motor - - like you are thinking, nice exhaust, monster k&n intake kit, really good plugs, synthetic oil. And if you have some loot to spend work the suspension in that car. The zx is a really nice gt, but its a little soft to drive. Get some nice shocks, wheels coil overs maybe and if you want to blow some loot put a big brake kit on the car. If you really get crazy port and polish the heads.

Take the advise of someone who has a very fast car... you need to work your way into it. These cars were not made to push mad hp and you do need some skill that only comes from experience to drive them.

    Peace - Michael

  6. i signed up. now what? is there a thread somewhere, or is it just an email type thing where emails are going to be sent to eveyone who registeres?

also, are there going to be therad hats or stickers or shirts available?

pS- do you know you can get you avatar as a shirt on ebay from the guys at speednation.com? I ordered a few and they are pretty nice, even if they did steal your pic...

  7. Hey,

Jim and all of the rest of y'all, thanks so much for all of your help. Surprisingly, when i came to work this morning, the manual seems to have loaded itself on my browser so I am printing it now.

Thanks again. I think its amazing that all of us come together to help one another, and i hope that i am as helpful to the folks on this site and they always are to me.

    Regards - Michael

Oh yea, I forgot, STONY, thanks also for putting this out.

  8. out of all my email accounts the one i posted is my work account and thats probably the one that can take the largest files. My other accounts are like 10mb att accounts which are useless.

Thanks for trying, i really do apreciate it.

Do you have any idea why i am having so much trouble trying to open the link? When i tried to open it before i was at work on a T1 connection.

Let me know if you have any ideas? Worst case scenario, if i sent you a return fedex mailer, could you burn a copy onto a floppy or a cd and send it to me? Sorry for being so retarded, but i could really use this manual right now. We are straitening out the wiring on my car now and it would be nice to see how the motor was set up originally.

    thanks again. Regards - Michael

  9. is that the Blizt unit? I am not familiar with it if it is. I am running an apexi power fc and am just getting into it. I am trying to get all the wiring stuff sorted out now and thats why i decided to do the computer and stereo stuff, at the same time the alarm and power windows and doors are done. If you need an alarm i just got a killer deal on a clifford unit that has good relays that tie right into all the other stuff going in.

If you can run maps on your system its a great idea to hardwire a laptop. I am planning on keeping mine hidden when not in use. Check out the ibm 240 (gotta love that), it has a 10" screen, a keypad mouse and external drives, also the keyboard is slightly smaller than standard. Even a standard laptop keyboard will fit almost perfectly on the back of the glovebox door if you take off the inside finsher.

All my electronics are now waiting for me in san diego. I am in nyc right now and cant wait to get home on wed. xxx-MAS in October :o)

  10. Now you did it: I just got all the components you are talking about, except add a 7" touch-screen in the dash with a built in dvd player in a single din set up. Also, add the touch screen compatible GPS unit and a Pentium 2 IBM laptop with a 10" screen for my apexi power fc.

My idea is to disassemble the laptop and mount the keyboard on the back of the glovebox door with a long retractable cord, disconnect the laptop screen from the computer body and then put the 10" screen on a pull out arm that comes out fo glovebox. Certain keyboards have a keypad mouse so you dont need anything too complicated beyond that.

I plan to use the computer as my mp3 drive and for diagnostic programs and mapping, and set the dvd player to play on both screens.

My head unit also controls a remote camara so i will probably add a back up cam with nite vision down the road.

BEST PART.... the IBM computer i used is an IBM 240 !!!!!

The stereo video stuff is Kenwood 911 series and gps stuff is 2100 series and touchscreen compatible.

JUST GOT A MONSTER ALARM TOO... wired directly to my Glock

  11. I just puchased a fully mapable aquamist water/methane system and plan to run it on my rb26dett gtr motor. This is the jam system and allows you to create custom maps, it also runs off its own ecu which incorporates a host of safety features that cut the system before it leaks into the manifold.

i plan to plum the injectors on the the underside of my intake. I plan to mount the injector upside dwn that way if it were to leak it would not leak into the manifold, also this way no one would see its in there.

I run an apexi power fc with a commander and i am hardwiring a complete laptop into the car for real time diagnostics so i am not that worried about detonation, i installed the aquamist more out of curiosity, to see how it performed, maybe gained some milage in round town driving. Also, how can a steam cleaned engine be a bad thing????

I will let y'all know how it turns out, or if anyone wants specific info they can email or pm me

  12. i dont disagree with a lot of what you wrote, and i really have no experience on web hosting so i dont know what is involved.

i do know whoever, that when the rb section was set up on this site, i liked the fact that all the posts were rb related.

it seems to me that some of the problems encountered on the rb thread could have been avoided if there was a stickey or something like there is now that introduces "newbies" to the site and instructs them on the bacis of the swap and the use of the search engine. Personally, i always thought it was a mistake to "flame" newbies about their redundant questions. if members think they are redundant, i dont know why they even bother answering them.

i am getting ready to embark on a rb/350tt conversion (to complement my rb/240tt) and i am planning to put up a site to feature the conversion and document it. i know that rick wong is about to begin another masterpiece of his own, and i am going to talk to him about documenting his project also, so we could put up a good bit of quality content.

if there is anyone out there interested in working on this project let me know, i am sure we could use more imput.

  13. I dont know too much about web-hosting, but it seems like we could do a homepage, thread, oicture gallery and a search engine and we can set up an rb/z site, no?

if anyone is interested and knows how to do it i would certainly be interested, and while i have no known skills i would certainly be willing to help out in any way i could.

    what do y'all think?????????????????

email me direct if you want to mxs666@att.net

  14. Beacuse we are just breaking in the motor, i really have not attempted to launch it, but just stepping on it a bit at only 7lbs its fast and the tires dont spin. In fact, when you gun it in second, you can actually feel the car rise as the torque loads the springs and then the car just shoots out. It has that harrier jet effect. Off the line, i expect the lsd will help, but once we raise the boost to a streetable 18lbs, i have no idea what is going to happen. I also have to play with the suspension a bit, or maybe roll the inside of the fenders to keep them off the rubber. They do rub a little now.

Also, i have been thinking about putting a power sterring unit in. Did you do this in your car? Any thoughts or advise on this would be helpful.

  15. Rick is obviously too buisy policing edicate on the board or too humble to post this himself, so i guess it falls on me to do it. Very nice write-up on the car, according to rick, it is going to be in the mag soon also.

    http://www.pasmag.com/news/get.asp?ID=586&tsectionkey=features#

Currently working on replacing the 1/2 shalfts w/ infinity Q45 shafts and CVs (i think they will fit :o) and new recaro millenium SRD seats. Also, the APEX's is not a piggyback, it is stand alone, and the clutch is NISMO Racing. The write up also says 12lbs, but i think it is running closer to 7lbs now at probably about 325hp (still not dyno'd).

The motor is just about broken in now, and we are going to start tuning it here in san diego. I had someone insterested in working on the tuning but they may have flaked out. If any of y'all are in the san diego area and want to get this motor dialed in and ready for prime time let me know. I would prefer someone with some experience w/the Apex'i, better still if they have done a skyline.

    Peace - Michael

  16. . . . . and that couldnt even pull a 3rd in the modified class (and nothing in the work in progress class).

I am not bitter, b/c awards and trophies dont make the car go faster, but not only didnt my car win anything, but as far as i can tell you have posted the only pic of my car from the show on the net out of the hundreds of pics that have been posted in the last few days.

I am beginning to suspect that most of the folks at MSA didnt know what they were looking at, b/c the rb conversion that rick wong did on this car is world class.

Anyway, maybe if i chrom the hinges for next year, i can take i place in the modified class (or maybe if i went back to an l28 and bought $10k of parts from MSA, maybe that would increase my odds of winning)

Peace y'all and thanks for posting this pic. At least i know a few folks appreciated what went into this car.

  17. dont get me wrong, pleanty of folks noticed the car. I was really stoked that Rick came down and was there to take the credit for the car. He smoked this car and there were plenaty of real car folks that were soaking it in all day.

As far as the awards go they aint make the car faster so...

Next up on the car is replace the u-joints w/ Q45CVs, paint, dial in the motor, dial in the suspension

  18. Couldnt even pull a 3rd in the modified class at the MSA show today.

Oh well, i guess that rick's (lr-racing.com) old rb/tt swap with sugical welds on the plumbing and billet engine mounts just can't compare to chrome hood hinges.

    Well, there's always next year.

  19. They mount in the corners of the window with no holes in the door.

i have a set of these on one of my cars and i like them a lot, i just dont know where they came from. The z31s look similar, do the z31 mirrors fit a first gen 240?

Anyone know what mirrors if not the z31s fit?

    Thanks - Michael
