  1. anyone know of mobil dyno services please let me know. i already have paypal acct set up to get prepays in as soon as i find dyno so i can send dyno owner payment in one chunk so they dont have the hastle of keeping up with who is who. we had at least 30 dyno last time and this meet is going to be bigger so im expecting at least that many this time.
  2. i need an upper intake for a 2006 infinity q45 for a project with my titan. im working on adapting the variable intake from the q45 to the titan engine vk56 that will be going into a 280 i found for next to nothing. i got the lower from the dealer and it was extremely expensive and had to come rom japan since no one has them on the shelf. so if anyone knows where i can get the upper with everything on it including the fuel rail i would greatly apprecieate the lead thank you. i have already had adapter plates made for teh lower to the vk56 heads only thing different was the bolt pattern. 3/8" worked perfect to space the intake so everyhting lined up.
  3. unless you have done a lot of work on a z i would suggest you read the turbo faq on z31performance.com. the swap you are talking about takes lots of money and time. im doing a similar swap but with a vg30det from a cima. there is nothing about this swap that is a bolt in. well you can bolt the t5 trans from the vg30 to the det,tt and bolt the trans crossmember to the car but thats as far as bolt ins go. the oil pan from the tt will need notching to miss the rack the left side motor mount has to be fabbed from the block to the frame of the car the right side is verry cloce but needs a little modding as well. do like the rest of the guys here have said mod the stock vg30et and be happy.
  4. the dett rods are quite a bit heaver than the et rods so you will need to get the rotating assembly ballanced. if i were building an et i would go with a set of aftermarket rods and pistons. i have a vg30det and im using eagle rods and wiseco pistons. im shaving a lot of weight doing so the stock det rods weighed 756 grams +/- 2gr eagles roughly 600gr, stock pistons 414g-wiseco pisons 330g. pins for both were about 125g. if your going to have to ballance the crank anyway why not loose weight with stronger parts? if yor going to be spendig the money go lighter. if i could ever get my gaskets in for this thing i just might get it put together one day. lol been waiting since thanksgiving for intake gaskets for it.
  5. well i would say you are running out of fuel at 15psi if you are using stock z31 turbo injectors. i have an 86 turbo myself and with stock turbo and fuel even intercooled is tough on them.i burned a piston like that so i am now building a vg30det to put in it. check out the turbofaq at z31performance.com lots of soch power specalists there.
  6. i am working on getting the gaskets imported i have the part numbers and a screen shot from a jap market FAST on my comp at home.unfortunately im in mobile alabama and my comp is in fl.when i get home i could send them to you or you could comtact beck at z31.com he is the one that sent the pn to me.hope it helps.also cometic said they could reproduce them for me if i send them the old gaskets.so you have 2 options
  7. the heads that go to my vg30det from a cima are way different that the tt heads.port entry is a lot different and larger and a true oval port i fi knew how to upload pics here i would up load some pics of the port entrances.
  8. great... i bought a set to go in my vg30det that im spending an insane ammt of money on having the crankshaft lightened and other things.now after hearing this im second guessing my rod choice.
  9. well i am doing this swap as well in an 86t. you do not need to swap the bellhousings on the trans period.the bwt5 bolts right to it with the bwt5 you would have to use a z32 na clutch since the bwt5 uses a 240mm clutch.or you could use the 87 up trans and use tt clutch since they are both 250mm.for my swap ill be using a tremec t56 upgrade for a mustang with a wilwood hyd slave inside the bellhousing.will have to either have a custom clutch made or if i can get my hands on a new mustang clutch to compare size with the one for a z32.
  10. the 383 is a 400 crank in a 350 block bored .030 over.also has to have custom pistons with a shorter compression height especially if going with a 6" rod
