    New Car...

Just picked up a CL55 Mercedes AMG Brabus ...couple years old but wicked fast...I was looking around for a skyline that had been federalized, basically a fast coupe daily driver, and then I test drove this thing...wow.... The technology in this thing is awesome. for example: Integrated sequential multipoint fuel injection and phased twin-spark ignition includes individual cylinder control of fuel spray, spark timing and phase, and antiknock. Electronic throttle includes adaptive accelerator, which provides more rapid throttle opening in response to the speed at which the accelerator pedal is depressed. Two high-energy ignition coils and two spark plugs per cylinder, with 100,000-mile spark plug intervals. These are not pics of the actual car, (These pics show the AMG rims and mine has the Brabus package,) but the color is the same. I'll post actual pics later. http://www.goo-net.com/cgi-bin/search/disp_pic2.cgi?20251512_200407a.jpg http://www.14tka.com/abcars/samochody/mercedes/cl55/benz-cl55-amg-003.jpg http://www.14tka.com/abcars/samochody/mercedes/cl55/benz-cl55-amg-f1-limited-edition-002.jpg
  2. My new tires on true spoke 15s Hoosier: P275/60D-15 STREET TD & P225/60D-15 STREET TD might work http://www.bobwoodmantires.com/hoosier/hsrsprtsbias.htm They look awesome...
  3. Here is a side by side comparison. The rectangles are each appx. 15" tall based on the wheel diameter. You can also see the proportion difference including length. This is why Chelle stretched her chassis, ...well that and the V12.
  4. Speed, the real gto is very narrow top to bottom...so the top of the hood line is closer to the ground that the ZGoat... hence the reason people drop the car - not to lower the bottom line but to lower the top line. For example the 28-9 inch rear tires come almost as high as the sideglass. Note pic...
  5. Smash those photos are Killerz... OzBoy - I am looking into the same drop for the same reasons...the exhaust issue is workable as you say. I am concerned with the rear camber when it's dropped that far. It's the killer look, but stiffen up those springs, yes? BTW, my doors are done, ready to go, except for locating those damn honda parts.
  6. Smash those photos are Killerz... I am looking into the same drop for the same reasons...the exhaust issue is workable as you say. I am concenred with the rear camber when it's dropped that far. I would look killer though. But stiffen up those springs.
  7. Is the for sale section availble only to members? Feel silly but I searched all over the damn site and couldn't find a "for sale" section or "Sellers who are wrecking"
  8. Fun looking at the pics..nothing like the initial romance of thinking about a new project... Unfortunately the motor rebuild alone on that thing would kill you, then the tranny, and the suspension mounts have most likely rusted out underneath and so forth. I've been down that road it's awful, especially when you can pick up a half decent post-74 model for 10-15000, or buy a decent shell with no motor and build it up yourself. Scary. http://denver.craigslist.org/car/293839805.html http://denver.craigslist.org/car/289804111.html http://denver.craigslist.org/car/273047965.html

  10. Anyone here know If you can get custom center sections for multipiece Hart Rims in the US...? See pic. What do you guys think of these rims...Anyone here run these before? Fronts: 18x9 +8mm offtset 5X114.3 and 4X114.3 Rears: 18X10 +5mm offset 5x114.3 and 4X114.3
  11. Fairbitch...hillarious... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/RAT-ROD-STREET-RATROD-CUSTOM-CAR-CONVERTIBLE-IN-SO-CAL_W0QQitemZ140094256195QQcategoryZ6472QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  12. So my understanding is that a bigger or more pos offset moves a rim towards the suspension and a smaller or more negative offset moves the rim outwards. I'm confused that every search turns up people using a 35-38mm offset for wide rear wheels...which implies bringing the rim inwards even further than the additional width. That being said- What is the stock rim and offset for a 78 280z and will this work? Fronts: 18x9 +8mm offtset Rears: 18X10 +5mm offset Anyone...
  13. Speed I tend to agree with you about the wire look. The Borranis and Daytons look best on the car style. This was just a pretty good deal and if the fitment was right... pretty tempting as a track set or for those weekends when you might want to mix it up.
  14. Anyone know if these rim would fit a stock suspension for a GTO wheel well...? ('78 280z as a base) Fronts: 18x9 +8mm offtset 5X114.3 and 4X114.3 Tires: Fuzion 245/40/18 Rears: 18X10 +5mm offset 5x114.3 and 4X114.3 Tires: Pirelli P-Zero Rosso 255/40/18 Thanks
  15. Anyone know if these offsets wopuld work for a GTO wheel well...? Fronts: 18x9 +8mm offtset 5X114.3 and 4X114.3 Tires: Fuzion 245/40/18 Rears: 18X10 +5mm offset 5x114.3 and 4X114.3 Tires: Pirelli P-Zero Rosso 255/40/18 Thanks
  16. A guy haad em for sale on the internet but didn't have any contact info - tried posting to the web admin but haven't been abl;e to reach him. He musty have sold em - too bad. They were 25.7 inches tall so they should filled the well nicely 8 up front 10 in back... oh well.
  17. What do you guys think of these rims rather than wires on a goat?
  18. Yeah,.. but Smash found the link, not me... The really sweet gto is eight down on the member page, (shot in the gallery also) nice borranis etc. There's a nice daytona coupe with a Jag v12 as well. As far as your rockers, I'd build a simple curved mold that matches your bodylines out of plywood and plex and then lay the glass up in that with some mold relaese and trim to fit.
  19. There's a guy down the page who has a GTO with a scoop mod...check it out. http://www.italianreplicacarclub.co.uk/2402/frames.php This was on another thread and posted by a brit member. Three pretty sharp goats...
  20. Looks nice mike - is that photoshop, or did you make those mods?

  22. Brutal. Glad to hear you walk away okay. I'd part it into a new one, cheaper and better than fixing the old one. G'luck man...
