  1. Great looking engine bay, I thought mine was quite clean. good job.
  2. Very true, I have a return from the fuel rail back to the surge tank, when i took the car out in very hot weather last year the bosch 044 motorsport pump started making alot of noise, and I found that the fuel was heating up partly from the front and partly from my off side rear tyre as the surge tank is mounted against the tank by the wheel, I think I need to fit a sheild just to deflect the tyres heat from the tank. this only happend once when it was 37 degrees C. I will kepp you updated and see how the engine runs once the summer gets here.
  3. I have moved the, IAT sensor back to the original position in the manifold, as it's tuned well in this position the sensor heats up rapidly in this position when idling, and temps are higher after hot soak about 70'c, the good news is the car still started well and was running a little richer than normal idle so I will have to back off the IAT correction a little, or it could choke itself in traffic. And now my LM-1 sensor is starting to play up shoing a free air reading every once in a while. bugger..
  4. Thanks yeah, I'm a bit worried about the onset of IAT correction as it seems to me that the sensor needs correction anywhere upwards of 40+ deg C. but most of the time in normal and fast driving the intercooler and water injection will keep the temps down way below that. I have an LED for warm up so can see when it's in warm up mode, Just as a side not I did bung a desk fan under the bonnet for 10mins blowing air over the fuel rail it cooled the rail down and also cooled everything else down by loads IAT temps went down to 31, so you can see why Nissan fitted this injector fan assembly to some 280zx and 300zxZ31 models.
  5. Right, well, I moved my IAT sensor from the inlet manifold, as I was getting bad lean hot starts and so after reading all the hot soak issues in that position I have now relocated it to the plastic ( Pallnet) spacer, In this position, it gets far less heat soak and so spent alot of the day running the car letting it sit and watching the IAT temp. Once upto normal running temperature, ticking over, it stays around 46 degress C when turned off the max it reached in the spacer position was 61 degrees. when started it still turns really lean 16-17 AFR so. After cygnusx1's comments, I looked into the IAT correction table and put some rough figures in starting at a+ 4% at 46 C upto a +18% at 70 C. And now she Purrs like a Kitten after hot soak, So thanks Cygnus1 for pointing me in the right direction. So as far as I can see the position of the IAT sensor makes little difference, as I would still have had to use the IAT correction setting/table. But why some people have this problem, and some don't is a different matter,
  6. I'll let you know how it goes in the new position first then may look for some guideance for some more IAT settings if this still play up.
  7. Right, I have moved the IAT sensor to the Pallnet spacer just after the throttle body I'm thinking the plastic spacer must conduct less heat so I'll let you know the results tommorow.
  8. I did this Machined down the pulley and bonded and bolted together with loctite.
  9. I went to see a FACTORY 240z convertable here in the UK once Yeah RIght LOL..
  10. Can you let me know the tricks please? as these lumpy restarts are the only problem I have with my setup. apart from that it's great
  11. I have the same type of problems too, so keep us updated I had the wideband connected and saw 17-19 afr and was running very lumpy I have fitted another heat shield to the turbo area of the engine with little effect, so may wire a small fan to run across the injectors and fuel rail to see if this helps keep the rail cooler. I'll let you know the results to.
  12. I need a ali radiator tooooo, you could be right, I used to work on Ford sierra cosworths when they were quite new and they used to say not to drive them hard when they were cold, because the hot water from the turbo used to make it's way through to the bottom of the rad and then expand it rapidly before it all warmed up together, they looked really strange kind of Bow'd out along the bottom edge!! just a word of warning, let it warm up properly I don't really drive mine hard untill it's warm anyhow.
  13. I've heard water cooled turbo housings can make your engine run alot hotter, be interesting to see how she goes.
  14. My compression ratio is 8.8:1
  15. I use the IDM pin on edis with my aftermarket tacho works great, but I would like to wire up the standard tach at some stage, I changed from the standard unit to get a shift light as well.
  16. 11 at 15psi and water/methy 50/50 but I will checkout the map sharing threads just thought It might be clearer on a seperate thread if not don't worry..
  17. Just thought I'd start a thread on L28 Turbo 's for abit of research before I head back to the rolling road, If we can post Boost Air fuel ratio under boost, max timing acheived and water/ meth yes or No intercooler, yes or No This might give people and me an idea of what can be expected at which boost level etc , bhp (if known) 11.0 Afr 24 degrees water/meth yes (but not tuned for yet) Intercooler yes 15psi 315bhp Thanks.
  18. Thanks I will try to upload it, I am running 15psi at the moment. may increase it, not sure yet.
  19. Pulls are done in 3rd gear the car pulls really well just need to get the water/meth working now, yeah pulls like a train and is eating diffs too need to get me a LSD. Another vid here..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4POCP0zSDd8
  20. Hi all haven't posted for a while been too busy to even drive the car, but had a Dyno day today and got a reading from the car pretty happy as I did all the build and megasquirt tuning myself so far, numbers are 315 flywheel hp and 283 at the wheels, with 313 torque at the fly too, graph looks smooth a bit of an over fueling issue at higher rpm should see 300 at the wheels with no probs,(once this is leaned out abit) , which was the target of the engine build, here's a link to my vid
  21. Ok have changed the grounds, I have soldered the 2 megasquirt and wideband together now the readings are pretty much spot on!! Thanks for that. now back to the tuning.
  22. Ok will try that and check the grounds, and let you know the result.
  23. I have my configurator set to # set INNOVATE_0_5_LINEAR "Innovate, PLX 0-5V 10-20:1 AFR" to use my LM-1 is this right!! I suppose I could use LC-1 setting but it says displays lambda?
  24. I have just got it flying as it seemed to be bogging down under boost and running out of steam I was running 10:1 on the wideband, have leaned it out now and she really flys, just a little worried, at least it's real reading is on the richer side than what Meagasquirt is showing.
