  1. has anyone found the front bumper of the white and gray/charcoal car next to the celica? i have yet to find where it can be bought.
  2. Thanks for the help guys. It has been using small amounts of brake fluid but I just thought it was a leak at one of the calipers. I think I'm going to change out the booster and master cylinder. If its not totally because of them atleast they will be new.

  4. I've searched and haven't found any help up to this point. When I first bought my '79 280zx she idled steady but high and smoking when i had to brake quickly. Did some searching and found craked hoses leading to a/c and cruise control. After replacing them, I lowered the Idle Air Control (after driving to normal operating temp) back to the factory 750rpm. Idle became smoother yet smoking still existed. More searching lead me to the possiblity of a bad PCV valve. Since the current one looked original I swapped it for a new one along with a new hose and a new hose on the valve cover. It doesn't smoke all the time only when I have to brake suddenly. This morning I had to stop quickly while traveling 10mph, rpms dropped to 500 but raised back up and she smoked for 15 seconds and cleared up. I have yet to find more vacume leaks and she isn't using any oil. If I can I'll try to get a picture of the smoke. Any advice, questions, or commets are appeciated.
  5. the part number is 24079-00002 i just want to find out if i can use this harness on a 1979 280zx. it says its for a 300zx but on the phone this is the one the parts dealer said i could use. just trying to save the hassle of getting something that doesn't fit. in there kit they have for they 280zx they show part number 24079-7583Z and sell three of thoes in the kit
  6. first off i did a search on here and on zcar.com with no luck. year: 1979 make: datsun model: 280zx trans: manual mods: none after buying my car i replaced the spark plugs, cap, rotor, plug wires, oil, fuel, air, and oil filter. while driving i would notice white smoke during heavy deceleration. changed the vacume hoses that were cracked which steadied my idle and cleared the white smoke. however after i drive the car for 10min or so when i stop and have the clutch in or car is out of gear it revs at 1500 and has been as high as 3k. i have also noticed that when i give it gas it hesitates but slowly revs to any rpm i desire. any ideas? (update) i messed with the connections for the injectors and mas. the car now revs without hesitation and no smoke. it is, however, still idleing at 1k. i warmed up the engine and and adjusted the idle air control per the haynes manual yet it still idles high.
