Hey All, I just purchased a F54 block with a E31 head on it complete from a member on this site. I have a few questions to ask and hopefully get a few answers? This engine was rebuilt in the early 2000's it has a remanufactured engine sticker on it. made in Japan ...This was done by the Z doctor,It is a F54 block and it looks to have dished pistons in it from looking down the spark plug hole. My thoughts is that his combo will not work unless the E31 head had a lot of work to it. The CR would be ??? I have read a lot about F54 with flat tops but why would they put this head on with dished pistons? the PO said the motor ran strong. and it must have. it was rebuilt in the early 2000's and driven. Is there a way to tell if the head had any work done to it without taking it off? i.e.: larger valves?? I just purchased a set of triple Weber’s for it and want to figure out if it will have enough CR to support this set up? I would love to save some $ if I did not have to tear the whole engine down, it looks to be in really good shape. Thanks Guy's, Dean
