  1. Thanks for that info. I will definatly check on it. Anyone else use this stuff or a similar product with good results. I used some jb weld on a chevy spectrum just to see how it would hold up it seemed to bond exeptionally well to the bare metal and painted over nicely and over a year later still no cracks. Not really a preference for my z though. Thanks all for input Jared
  2. I still want to know what the limitations are on structural adhesives I was wondering if I could lay the first layer of fiberglass with the adhesive for a good bond to the metal and then fiberglass over it. THanks for any and all input Jared
  3. Hey all you guys familiar with fiberglass. I have not done much of anything with it and Im taking on a large project with my zvertible. Anyhow the previous owner installed jim cook racing flares which look really good. Problem is they are cracking where mated with the body. I was wondering what the options where to getting them to stay. Second problem one side is damaged due to a wheel flying off. I am planning on repairing the fiberglass and want to know the strongest way to do it. I can only repair from the top because the back is filled in with foam. I was wondering if I could use really fine fiberglass matting with structural adhesive rather than the resin. Thanks all. ~Jared~
  4. I will definatly check into the tr7 ragtop. Im not really keen on the top from the fiat on that blue z. Too much rear window I still really wanna see the pics of the ford v8 powered convertible that is on here somewhere. If anyone else has any ideas on how to beat the 1500 dollar price tag on a vr engineering ragtop let me know. Thanks guys
  5. Hey Does anyone have any pictures of their zvertibles. I know one guy has a ford v8 powered one on here and I want to see it if anyone has the link or something. I just bought a convertible myself soon to be a 350 or 383. Im looking for more info especially pics on these though as they are rather rare finds. Thanks all
  6. That is some awesome body work I hope you post some finished pics as soon as its done. I take it that all that fiberglass is one off. Man would I love to have that look on my next z.
  7. Hey tim. Could you contact me with some more info about that car. I sent you a private message maybe you didnt get it. Or did I email you Now I dont remember. Hope you can help me out. Thanks jared
  8. Well first hello everyone Im finally registered. I have to say I love this forum passionatly. I have this problem...I happen to be in love with z cars. OK heres the deal I found what appears to be exactly what im looking for on zcars.com its a convertible conversion done on a 1977 280z it also has the round tail lights, Jim cook wide rear fenders, and motersport front valance, It needs a little fiberglass touchup, paint. It was running till the drivetrain was removed. This is ok for me because a 350 swap is inline. I need to know is 1000.00 too much for it. IT also has good centerline rims and new tires? I will probably have to pay abot 350 or 400 for s+h
