  1. Hey guys according to the jtr book I need a radiator off of a 84-86 camero. Will any others work and will one from a slightly newer camero work. This is going to be a street car so I need one that can handle lots of driving. Thanks guys
  2. Thanks bill v I was just wondering that to myself so great that you said that. Im guessing basically I can use the stock setup with the vortech heads and edl. intake. I think that would be a great budget performance combo.
  3. Well you may be poor for awhile but we will all still envy you when you have that engine in your z. Might as well grab the auto tranny. I would offer them less than 550 if your tight on money though u never know. Man I sure wish I could buy an ls1. Good luck.
  4. Hello...wish I had all the knowledge these guys on the board have. Being new to the hybrid scene and as I am getting ready to do a swap of my own I can definately tell you that my jtr manual was and is probably the most important part. Note that many on this site have done other forms of this swap or have bought cars that were set up in a form other than the jtr setup and pretty much common sense will tell you that jtr is the best way to go. No one on here is advertising but I also know most people dont have time to quote a 100 page manual in a post this is partially why it is recommended. That and Jtr doesnt even sell the conversion parts in actuallity it is a company called stealth conversions that is just advertised in the back of the jtr manual. I highly recommend this book after reading my own copy and also recommend another book that is on their site www.jagsthatrun.com that is about tpi and efi swapping. Those 2 books are based on alot of personal experience. Good luck on your swap hope to see some pics. Gonna go look at it this weekend and see if its the 2v or 4v hey for 50 bucks u cant go to wrong. probably going with a 350 tpi if the guy still has it too. Ur knowledge is greatly appreciated.

  7. Hey guys I usually am hangin on the chevy side of the board. But I just found a complete running 351 cleveland with tranny and everything for 50 bucks. I was wondering if anyone is running this if so is there any info on the swap and is it as easy as the chevy small block swap. I would love to hear some input. Thanks guys
  8. So has anyone had any luck boosting thier top end. How about adding a 50 shot of juice. Seems like something could be done to get the top end power to stetch to 6000 rpm's
  9. Well I guess no is as good a time as any to as some more questions. First im getting the whole running engine possibly with trans for about 300 bucks. About the intake does it fit or not looks like I already have 2 different opinions. also this is a 350 tpi and not a 305 I was just wondering if it would be better to put it on a different engine and forget the one Its on. My hopes are to get a very reliable 280-300 hp to the wheels and get fair gas mileage and highway driveability. As this will be an everyday driver I was hoping to have the fuel injection. Are there any aftermarket intakes that would give a little more top end power. How about a cam or other upgrades. Thanks alot guys
  10. Hey guys help again!!! I was wondering if I can swap a complet tpi system from a 89 iroc to a regular 350 block and heads. I can get the whole system pretty cheaply and would really like to go fuel injected. Thanks for your help.
  11. In reference to your air compressor needs. Ive heard that for painting you should have an upright tank. The upright tank cambell hausfield 5or 6 hp model is about 375.00. I believe that is probably the route im going to go if I buy one. I have also considered renting a compressor you might think about that also. Good luck

  13. I found a really good deal on a speedo cable that was going into a t-5 350 swap and I want to know can I use it on a 700r4 350 swap instead. Thanks

Thanks for the above attempt to help everyone but as I have been doing research on this subject it has come to my knowledge that this is the same as the scarab kit and has the many scarab disadvantages as opposed to the jtr kit. Check it out at www.jagsthatrun.com also the above kit seemed kinda expensive for what you get performance wise out of it. Good luck to all fellow swappers.

  19. I will be running a 700r4 tranny. Do you think I can maybe get a new end put on the cable at a speed shop cheaply if its the right length. Im getting the speedo cable and the throttle linkage and cable all for 26.00 shipped new in packages. I figure if it doesnt fit ill post it on here and ebay or something. TomahawkZ I sure would like to see that throttle linkage that was homade if you can find a link or pictures. Thanks a ton for your help guys

  22. I was wondering if anyone has used a product called sea goin epoxy putty or something along that line. Wanted to get some opinions. Also what is a good epoxy to bond fiberglass to metal. and also metal to metal. thanks for your input

  24. Hey guys I just stripped my carpet out and underneath is this tar looking stuff. Looks like it was layed in sheets though. Anyhow if anyone knows what Im talking about how do I remove this stuff. Started with a hammer and chisel waayyyy too much work there. Thanks all Jared
  25. No I used a wide chisel ala woodworking variety for the sharpened edge. My car doesnt have any rust on the floor pans guess that means its gonna be stickier to get the stuff off.
