  1. Thanks jeff I will be checking your site for updates.
  2. Hello jeff. That is some awesome work. I had plans to do a similar overhaul of my car. Im also using he yz fender flares and I am wondering on how you plan to mount or space them and get them to look right with the vette rear end. I also wondering if there are any other options to bring in the rear wheels such as backspacing mods etc. I am trying to avoid having the rear end shortened. Also wondering if you built that frame yourself or had it fabbed. Did you make any blueprints or spec sheets you would be willing to share with a fellow hybrider. I would like to hear some costs of your project as I will be doing alot of the same except maybe a mustang II type IFS. May be running a caddy 500 Big block also so I need this kind of strength. Hope to hear back from you soon. Awesome work and website. Mucho kudos.
  3. Well I have to agree with kevin on this one. I have a personal belief that things happen for a reason. We have to lean not on our own understanding sometimes and let fate (God) take over situations. I think that if you didnt understand why you gave that 20 dollars away that was probably all the more reason to give it. Maybe it didnt have a thing to do with the man needing it or not but rather just that fact that you were willing to do so. As far as the earlier remark about buying a dozen roses for the misses I have found that most girls admire guys with a kind heart and stature is all about the long term brownie points. Auxilary I think you did the right thing for that time. I dont usually give to beggers but If I see one I usually say a simple prayer and see if I feel led to do anything if not I drive on. Guess Im rambling... Merry late christmas to yall.
  4. Hey cant wait to see those tops youve constructed. Im definatly trying to come up with something. Cant get mine to sit low enough for my tastes and neet a better way for it to attach to the top of windshield flange. Post away guys.
  5. Hello 2002, Lets see. Your engine mounting will be exactly the same as the 350. All 400 dimensions are the same as a 350 for mounting purposes so you can use all the jtr mounts for your conversion. The over heating problems that arise are usually due to blocked steam holes in the heads either from using the head gaskets from a 350 or heads designed for a 350. All small block heads can work on a 400 but the steam hole passages must be drilled out. If you are referring to the same engine and transmission combo that you were talking about in a previous post. That is a good deal and a complete steal if you are getting help installing it. I would recommend getting a 200r4 or a 700r4 transmission with overdrive instead of the 350 or 400 trans that you had mentioned coming with it. Sell it and get one of the aforementioned overdrive transmissions. You will love yourself later. IF you have any questions about why this is a good idea feel free to ask as this post is already going on forever. Good luck with your swap cant wait to hear more about it.
  6. any more info on this swap. Pros cons and performance part sources would be a huge help. Like the idea of big cubes but I dont think the big block swap is for me. Any figures on weight difference. To the one who started this post how is the swap coming along these days would love to hear about it. What tranny can be used in this application??? Thanks guys

I like the body lines you have going if it were to be a good show quality kit it would look so awesome on my convertible and the room for some fat tires would be nice. need something to fit my 18x10 vette rims under Keep us posted and more pics. You could definatly hook some vr engineering yz body kit fans with this one if your price was the same or less. Will be waiting in anticipation!!!!

  13. Hey guys I know someone has to know this. Im getting ready to get into the engine stage hopefully in january. What I want to know is If I find a good deal on a 383 rotating assembly. What should the machine shop price be on boring over and clearencing a bare block and how much could I save if I clearence it myself. And then have them assemble the whole shortblock. Gonna go aftermarket on heads. Thanks for any info or suggestions. Im just trying to save money here and dont have time and I dont have yet the knowledge to rebuild this engine. Thanks again...

Any good simple books on street rod wiring?
  17. Hey tim so for your full of inspirational ideas for my project. I might as well keep on following as long as Im able. I have the waytek wire catalog but I have no idea where to start or what I need. I know i want enough flexibility to have air conditioning, power everything, possibly digital gauges. Budget is an issue but so Is my lack of electrical knowledge Ive got alot of mechanical stuff down but in the electronics field I dont get to do alot of tinkering. Thanks for any info.

  22. I believe it was in a past issue of summits sport compact catalogue that I saw this but anyhow lingefelter's racing team had one in an s10 making 2000+ hp that would have been a rear wheel drive application. Thats nutsy power!!!

  24. Hey guys I recently acquired some newer vette rims from ebay. 18x10's in the rear and 17x8.5's in front for the sum of 212 bucks however the chrome is peeling in places and I want to remove it. Is there an alternative to sand blasting. Does anyone know where to get rims plated cheaply otherwise Im just going to paint them and would like some advise on what type of paint I should go with. Thanks guys.
