  1. I am looking to get an F54 block and a P90 head. I just want to know if there is any good places to buy from and get shipped. Is there anyone on these forums that sell them? I want to get everything with the engine as well. This is my first venture into buying an engine, as my 7M-GTE was perfect in my supra. (And I have looked in the buy/sell area, and nothing there really gets me.) Any help is great, thanks. A1C Wilson Support our troops.
  2. Ok, if I was to buy this 5 speed and then an L28, would that work?
  3. Bump. I need to know, my tranny is starting to suck...
  4. What about just the 5 speed? Will that bolt up?
  5. I am about to buy an '84 maxima. The person I'm buying it from says that I can get the motor and the 5 speed from it, and it'll swap right over into my '73 240z. I just want to know if it's that easy, will it just swap right in? No other parts needed? What if I want to use just the tranny, will it connect right to my motor?
  6. I thought about going crazy and building a y pipe that connects to the 2 carbs, and then travels in front of the radiator... but, I can't weld... Should I just keep it stock until I swap a L28ET in there? (next yearish) I still would like to see pics of your setup though, I may buy it still.
  7. I want to get a new filter setup for my '73 Z. It has the '72 SUs. and I'm new to the Z scene, so I decided to ask. I've seen a lot of the K&N style, but I don't know what the part #'s are... I've heard of a "Team green" filter that is cheaper but just as good as the K&N setup. I have also seen stub or ram stacks on the SUs, but I like I said am new to Zs, and in that fact carbs. I'm TOO used to Supras. I had an '89 Turbo, but it was totaled by a fool. Anyways, just talk to me about the setups, and help me locate them. Thanks, A1C Wilson Support our troops.
  8. No problem. Thanks for the help. A1C Wilson Support our troops.
  9. Sorry for the stupid comment. It won't disengage. I can synchro shift all the way to 4th, but I am refraining to drive the car any. And the clutch is new, I have the receipt for it when he bought it. I found a guy who has been messing with nothing but z's ever since the early 70's. He has 3 280z'x, 2 260z's, and 2 240z's. He also has a lot of older maxima's with the 5 speed tranny and all that. He's going to work on her, and help me out a lot. Thanks a lot guys, A1C Wilson Support our troops.
  10. Well, I bought a new clutch fork, t/o bearing springs, slave to hard line hose, and I'm trying to find a replacment boot for the fork to housing hole. Hopefully I've got what I need. I'm also going to replace the gear oil. Any other suggestions on what I should bring to the party? A1C Wilson Support our troops.
  11. Well, I'm going to drop the transmission some time next week... I have to mission plan and fly for the next couple of days. I appriciate the help. Anymore would be great. Thanks again, A1C Wilson Support our troops.
  12. I used to have an '89 Supra Turbo, it got totaled as I was driving off base. Well, a week ago, I bought a '73 240 Z with 103894 miles on it. ($3500) The other day I was driving to work and I was on the highway in 4th gear when I heard a loud thump from under me. I thought I hit something (living in OK...). Now the clutch won't either engage or disengage. I thought maybe it was the slave, so I got a new one. Didn't work. Got a new master, and that didn't work. And it's like too small or something, the pedal does't have the same travel as when the old one was up there. I tried bleeding it over and over. (my hands are gone) I'm not sure I was even doing it right. I just noticed that I can move the fork easily, like jiggle it. Seems lose or something. I don't know what to do. I haven't dropped the tranny yet... but I will once I know what to look for. This will be my first tranny drop too... so ANY help will be appriciated. I just need to know what all I may need and I may also need a new clutch hard line..... Thanks, A1C Wilson Support our troops.
