  1. Retired AF officer currently nearing the end of a teaching career. I bought my 240Z off the showroom floor in 1971 for $4,335 - paid a premium over sticker to get to the top of the nine month waiting list. At the time, I was making $6,639 a year as a 2nd Lt in the USAF. Still have the Z and started a restoration in April after it sat in storage for over 15 years.
  2. I'm not sure the early Z bumpers would be of much more value than FG bumpers as protection in an accident. I've always considered mine to be best suited as "touch sensors" when parking not protection in a crash.
  3. I've put over $5,000 into mine in the last six weeks and have several thousand to go. What's interesting is that I bought it new in 1971 for $4,335. At that time, I paid about $600 over sticker to jump to the top of the nine month waiting list. The Z has been in storage for 15 years and I've now replaced all of the deteriorated items like brake & clutch cylinders, tires, door seals, ignition, etc. Next, to the body & interior. What fun!
