  2. i own a small Dyno shop in levittown pa, 5 minutes from the burlington/bristol bridge. i have tuned three turbo miatas, a turbo horizon and am working on a rb25 swap in a s13 right now. my shopmate has built megasquirt boxes from scratch. i am more that happy to fully tune, rent dyno time and guide you tuning yourself or rent the dyno for your own tuning. my number is 215-310-8851. its my cell so you can text me if you want. I am a nissan guy at heart. my 88 z31t is making 498 whp 497 tq on a stock na block. cams and heads, running a haltech e6k and a t67 turbo. it should make a lot more next time on the dyno. I will be the mobile dyno guy at the carlisle performance and style and import/kit car weekend if you guys are going to that.
  3. i believe that a t67 is a little bigger than a gt35r. i think that with the 3.5 setup i want to run twin billet 6262's since this season is almost over. we will see. this turbo isn't even in its effiency range at 15 psi.
  4. Two coils are on there way out so ordered them from haltech and they should be here by the weekend.
  5. Well, a couple of things happened there. I did let off fairly early. Redline is set low because it is a stock na block, heads, cams so i want it to last a little bit. I did have some wiring gremlins that i took care of since and there are new ign wires on there now. Also there was a shoty circuit board on the dyno which is getting replaced tomorow. It still does break up top so it may be one of the coils going bad. I have a vg33 bored to a 3.5 with forged brc pistons, scat rods, s2 cams, rebuilt heads, mueller twin disc at the machine shop ready to go when i say so but i want to get the highest hp stock block and fastest 1/4 mile before i throw that beast in. I think that it is 450ish and 11.6. Going to do a 100 octane 20psi tune very soon to beat it.
  6. made some more adjustments and did a couple of pulls with load. This is still at 15psi. Can't wait for a little race gas and 20 psi. Going to the track tomorrow to see what it will do.
  7. Here is a little video teaser. Not done tuning it yet but it is coming along nicely. Took it out tonight to get more gas and it felt good. Yes i am going to be getting a steering wheel soon in case you are wondering.Â
  8. Its not a shiro Well, got a baseline run in today. It made 317/348 at 15 psi but my intake manifold broke and i let off at around 6k as it went pig rich. The divider in the manifold broke off inside and was rattling around. Other than taking a couple of minutes to figure out where the rattling was coming from everything is ok. Should have better numbers by next week. Not going to post the graph as it is rough at the end.
  9. Should tune it tomorow. Its a brand new dynocom 5000 eddy brake 2wd dyno. Right now its a stock 87 na block, rebuilt heads, stock cams, spec stage 3 clutch, 1000cc injectors, haltech e6k standalone, tt fuel pump, precision 38 mm wastegate, tial 44 blowoff, vacuum actuated cutout, satans custom plenum, log manifold, fuel rails, t67 turbo, etc. I have a vg33 at the machine shop being bored to a vg35 with brc forged pistons, scat rods, jim wolf s2 cams, adj. Cam gears, etc but they are taking their time so i thew this motor in for now. Going for the fastest, most hp stock block z31 which is 480whp and 11.6
  10. Well the z and new dyno are both ready to roll so it should be a fun weekend. Stock block, rebuilt head, mls gaskets, haltech e6k, t67 turbo, 1000 cc injectors, custom satan plenum and exhaust manifold. Should have my built vg35 back by the end of august but this should make some power until then.
  11. Yeah I am working on a bunch of things these days. Trying to set up a dyno shop in Philly but I might end up back in Rochester with jimi, you never know. This z is going to be insane. I took the efi 101 and advanced so I know how to tune now. This turbo should make well over 700 whp and I plan on upgrading it mid summer. I have two other z's one an 50th AE with 47,000 miles that I am restoring to sell. I should be up to Rochester a bunch this year. Let me know when you are going to instruct driving events this year and I will make one of them.
  12. Well a lot has changed on this car. It made 365 whp 390 ft/lbs at 15 psi. Ran a 12.5 at 117mph. A ring collapsed and I had to redo the motor so I picked up some 93 mm 8.5 to 1 comp. BRC forged pistons, and a set of scat forged rods. The block is at the machine shop getting put back together. I have a set of MLS head gaskets going on. I have upgraded to a t67 turbo, 1000 cc injectors, custom plenum and exhaust manifolds, and external waste gate. The car has a monster cage in it with 260z seats. I picked up a mueller twin disc and a custom catch can from redi imports. Here are some pics of the progress. I hope to make over 700 whp and run 9's.

  14. i should be able to most of the engine work and i have a decent garage in philly with a bunch of z and supra guys. i have mostly worked on z31's but they are more complicated anyways. i will contact you soon.
  15. That is what i figured. i will probably just be doing driving events at the glen for a while as i haven't done any yet but i will definately be running 10 second passes this year and i am probably running at the 1 mile track in the carolinas with some of my z guys.
  16. i am looking to cage my z31 and i was wondering where to order a premade weld in kit or if i should just have one made. My car should be in the 9 sec 1/4 mile range within a year so i want to get a cage to meet those requirements. i also am going to track the car at the glen and i might even go to the standing mile and or bonnaville. What point cage do i get and are the premade ones any good?
  17. I have an E6k on my 88 300zxt. the motor is a pathfinder vg33 that i bored to a vg34. I have had the hardest time getting anyone to dynotune this car because it runs on dos software. i just moved to southern jersey so does anyone know of a place that tunes in the philly, jersey, ny?
  18. There is no point to doing the swap. You could build a vg30 or 33e to handle more power than you will ever be able to give it for the price of dropping in a tt motor and then you have to mod it which will cost you twice as much. That and if you have to ask you probably shouldn't be taking on the project.
  19. I picked up a 87 z31 for cheap and was wondering if anyone has laid the ground work for putting a ls1 into a z31. I am thinking of making this car a track car and there is a good ls1 tuning shop in town. I didn't know if anyone made engine mounts for it.

I have the s2 racing cams and valve springs from jim wolf and according to them the engine can rev to 7800, but I am going to have it at around 7k. the tech guy said that the springs were heavily tested and should only have the seat pressure required which is 68 ft pds. my machine shop set the height to stock and I broke a couple of rocker arms before realizing what went wrong.(guy before me had the springs and not the cams so he thought that they were both stock) I don't know if using the inner spring will help you much and it might even cause coil bind. Anywho make sure that you use the retainers that they give you and set the spring height to what they say.
  21. They are going to tune it up to 18 not start at 18. The injectors were cleaned and flow tested.
  22. I am finnally getting the car tuned this week. I have a couple of questions for what to tune my setup to. Quick recap: vg34, wiseco forged pistons, 9.5 to 1 comp, jim wolf s2 cams and valve springs, t3-t4 60 trim turbo, Haltech ek6 standalone, 580cc injectors, tt fuelpump. adjustable fpr, intercooled, engloid plenum. stock head gaskets. I was trying to get some feedback on what to set my boost to and what not. I was thinking 18psi on 93. 26 on VP C-14(115 octane). Engine can handle revving to 7800 but I was thinking 7k, I gapped my plugs at .28. How does everything sound? It will be tuned on the street not the dyno.
