  1. Ok im pretty sure i might have messed up on the install of the zxt distributor. If i get the motor at tdc, remove the distributor, and line the shaft and rotor up with cylinder one, the timing should be at zero? Im not sure if they did those for me, i just sent them an email though. Thanks! very helpful tip. I guess i need to try this first.

  3. Thanks, i hope so too. Is it possable that my timing is off just enough so that when the coil is firing the spark the rotor isnt facing the point in the distributor cap? Like maybe its firing the spark inbetween the cap points?
  4. Well, it tried to start again today, just went out and turned the ignition and she tried. Im thinking a ground problem or a settting if off in T/S. Thanks for all the help
  5. Sweet, thanks redzedturbo and kaito! As far as the ignition troubleshooting goes i have tested for spark at the plugs and the coil. The timing light trick is a good idea, ill have to try it. Ill pm you as soon as i get home. I think im getting plenty of fuel. I had to fix a few leaks when i first turned the ignition on. Ill double check to make sure. Thanks for the info and link!
  6. This just stumps me beyond my wildest dreams. Power is going everywhere it should be, even the coil but still nothing. I went out and tried to start it one day and it tried to but nothing sense then. So i thought mabe a bad ground or lose connection, everything checks out. Could there be interference with the signal to the distributor? Could it be a wrong amount of power to the coil or something like that? I know its hard to help over the internet, atleast for me. Any help is very greatly apperciated!
  7. Sorry man, just bear with me ill figure it out one of these days haha. Okay, the bib373 was installed at DIY. I havent opend the ecu to check but it was on my receipt from them. The code that i pulled up is signiture: MS2EXTRA SERIAL310
  8. Great info guys. Okay, ive got Ignition capture at falling edge. The code on the back of the ecu is ms2357-c. Thanks Katio, that would help a lot. And dont worry, It happens.
  9. This site is great. Anyway i have my "number of coils" setting set to single coil. Im assuming that is the same as Coil Charging Scheme? Also spark output Is set at going high (inverted) The car doesnt want to fire anymore. One thing i noticed for the brief period She was sparking, my AFR gauge was reading around 8.5 up to 13.5. But now that i have no spark again it wont change from 22.4, wich is wayy rich.
  10. She want to start! It will idle for a second or two, really rough then die. I think its the timing
  11. Im not using the gm hei unit, just a coil. I hate to ask but how do i wire it for direct coil control? I know im just overlooking the obvious
  12. Alright, awesome. Ive got the tach on tuner studio showing rpm now. But still no spark so it must be the coil wiring. Ill go over that later today. I think it has to do with the + side of the coil going to the fuel pump relay.
  13. I WAS making goos progress. However, yesterday when i attempted the first start up... I have no spark. Ive checked every connection and its all the way it should be from what i can tell. Im getting plenty of fuel and all the engine constants seem to be where they should be. Any idea on what i could check? The one thing im not very sure on is the distributor wiring. I might have got it mixed up. Electricity isnt my strong area
  14. Awesome. Sorry for asking the same question like five times. i get confused
  15. Thanks! My pin 24 is like a ten gauge wire that is sheilded and then there is pin 26 is a light purple color wire that also says CAS on it? Is one of them not used?
  16. Does anyone know how to wire in the 83 distributor to the megasquirt? Im not 100% on what wire goes where. Pen 24 and 26 go to the distributor, where? i dont know... I have the v3 0 megasquirt.
  17. Luckly i found a 280zxt at pull a part of all places that was basicly untouched, Got the dizzy shaft and a few other little things. The whole car is wired up now so all i need to do is set up a few things on megatune and then finaly try to start it. Are the stock injectors high impedance or low impedance?
  18. which megasquirt software

  19. which megasquirt software

  20. which megasquirt software

  21. Pin 36, the ignition outpun. Does that go the the positive on the coil?
  22. Well dang. ive got a really good local junk yard here with tuns of Z's and you pull the parts yourself. guess im going back tomorrow. Does the shaft just pull out or do i have to get the entire oil pump? Ive got the injectors connected and would have more done it it wasnt 926732465 degreese outside.
  23. Also thank you for your kindness, kaito
  24. Geezz! After reading that i feel dumb for asking, it makes complete sense! The only other thing is the CAS. Has anyone used the DIY trigger wheel and sensor? I have an 83 distributor but Its a spline connection and the shaft i have wont accept it because it has a slot to accept the 81 distributor.
