  1. Plans are to run it between the crossmember and motormount and run it to the rear of the car
How big of diameter do you plan on making the down pipe? Do you have the standard JCI style motor mounts? If I'm thinking about the same place you're talking about running the down pipe, you are limited to pretty much only running a 3" diameter pipe through that little hole. I'm on a mission to figure out a way to run at least a 3.5" down pipe to the back of the car. I think that 3" is just a little too small. Heres the area that I run mine through.... Same place you're talking about?

  2. Are you referring to the same adapters is in the first post?

No, the other end. The side that goes to the fuel rails.

Something like this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/AEI-15104/ but not 50$. Hah!

Well... doing a google search for "Dorman 800-155" will get you the tube piece. Then you need a -6 tube nut / sleeve to turn it into a -6 Female AN fitting.

  3. My engine always likes a lot of timing. Race fuel also requires more timing in my experience. All engines are different but I would suggest inreasing the timing, little by little, until she blows up!

NOW you're talkin! I was thinking about turning up the boost a little. And keep putting timing in it until I start seeing knock. As of now, I'm not getting any knock under WOT.

What CR are you running? and how much timing / boost? What AFR at WOT ?

  4. I'll tune for mid 11's on race gas. I'm on a pump gas mix right now and want to keep things a little on the safe side, then the sorry side. Back in the DSM days I would shoot for 11:1 on pump and mid - high 11's on race gas. Something is still not right though, I've trapped 102mph in the 1/8th on my N/A set up. 4mph less with a turbo don't seem right.

  5. Thanks guy! Ya I really do like having a turbo on the car, lots of fun!

So I just took the car to the track Friday night, but have to say that I'm disappointed with the results. Granted I am only running 7 -8psi, I have run better E/T's and MPH with my N/A set up.

    Best:

    MPH > 98.4

    E/T > 7.02

    60ft. > 1.48

That is by far the best 60 foot I have ever pulled in my life. Car just did not pull hard up top like it should. AFR is mid 10's, timing it 14 - 16*. No knock, Feels strong. I don't know whats up. more boost maybe? :P

    When the car was N/A I've run a 7.002 @ 100mph. And even hit 102mph.

  6. I've swapped the cam in mine about 4 times, with it in the car. Easy! I've got an LS1 with JCI kit in my S30. For the bolts that hold on the timing chain cover, from the bottom. I just used an open end wrench to get at them and its hardly a problem at all. I used a small amount of RTV on the cover when going back together for a little extra insurance.

I also used a home made tool that screwed onto the rocker arm hole to compress the valve spring. I just put whatever cylinder I was working on, @ TDC and screwed the tool down, Valve touched the piston and the spring compressed enough to remove the keepers. Also, You can buy dowel steel to slide through the lifter oil gallies in the front of the motor to keep the lifters from falling down while you're pulling the cam out and putting it back in.

  7. I just used the sending units that cam with my water temp and oil pressure gauge. My fuel level is a 0 - 90ohm that gets its signal from my Fuel cell sending unit. My tach got us signal from the wire that comes out of the PCM and originally went to the gauge cluster. The Speedo gets is signal from the the PCM as well, from the wire that also originally went to the gauge cluster. If you have any questions about which wires you connect to what, PM me and i'll give you some detailed info.
