  1. Head swap is done but the car won't start. Have spark and fuel. We adjusted the valves cold to .015 intake and .019 on exhaust. Could this be keeping the car from starting? Any ideas? Bernard 83 turbo with 81 p90 head
  2. I don't have the specs for doing the valve adjustments for my new p90. Bernardd 83 turbo
  3. Realtime emulators are only around 150-200 bucks. Connect one to your fancy laptop and voila, you're tuning on the fly. GM guys are using them successfully. Perhaps because their ecu's are mid eighty's and somewhat slower than the new stuff. I would be happy with software that would give me realtime trace to tell me where the ecu is going. I still haven't figured out how the ecu calculates the base pulsewidth at idle. Perhaps this is the hardware changes that JWT (damn them) makes. Personally, I'd go with a buick gn ecu before spending big bucks on a standalone. I can be setup with the entire sensors, harness, maf,etc for around 300 canadian. They are completely hacked with everything there. Boost control, sequential injection, DIS...... Other than datalogging, which really is nice, there is no benefit to spraying a lot of cash on these standalone units.(IMHO) I lucked into a megasquirt so that'll do nicely for me. I don't need to have ignition control as I already have the 450hp ignition maps installed in my 300zxt ecu. Tony, have you done anything with the motorola 6802 in the 300zxt? Maybe you can help me out with my quest. Bernardd
  4. Hi Perry, I've swapped my 83 turbo efi to a 86 turbo efi setup. I'm happy with it but I'm unable to crack the code enough to find the injector sizing constant. I can change the injection pulsewidths when the ecu uses the fuel map but not at idle when the bigger injectors I want to use(370cc) are too rich. Can you give me more details about what you can do? I'd be very interested. Some of the products that I've considered can be found here: www.perfectpower.com and http://www.bgsoflex.com/megasquirt.html. I've actually got a megasquirt kit at home right now, I just haven't had time to install it yet. I'd rather wire in a simple device between the ecu and maf. Easier and just as good if it's laptop programmable. One thing that I've found is the 300zxt ecu won't tolerate less than about a 1.6vdc signal. Don't know if that would hamper you, just something that I you may want to know. Bernard 83 turbo
  5. I've purchased a Megasquirt kit to work with my 86 300zxt ecu and require a pot type tps that hopefully will fit onto the stock throttle body. Any of you guys with standalone efi (sds) have any suggestions. I also require a manifold air temp sensor if anyone has any ideas. Bernard 83 Turbo.
  6. I've changed the head on my 83 turbo from a 90a to a 90 and I can't get the sprocket up to cam. Is the P90 taller? Just checking before I take out the rad, fan and front cover to see what is going on.
