  1. Yea the OV2 is sweet man. My original plan was to put both of them I have in there but I got lazy so I have one unused that im trying to sell lol. I plan on going with a full ED setup for the SC as well. Components and the slim sub to replace the stock one and maybe an amp. The stock nakamichi amp is nice.
  2. Well I haven't had much time for the car. School is started and im working full time. The last thing that happened was the muffler fell off while we were driving it. LOL. So we need a whole new exhaust system, its stupidly loud once it warms up. i just sold my other car and picked up a 1996 SC400 so I've been busy getting the paperwork done and setting up my GPS.
  3. frame is pretty good from what I can remember. Floors need some work and as far as the fenders go we're gonna cut the rust out sand it and seal it up. Then we're gonna put on the classic fenders. Yep guyanese lol.
  4. Definetly! Im out in Queens NY about 30 minutes from the city.
  5. Well we finally decided to jump in and start working on the Z. First thing we did was pop the hood and give the motor a good cleaning. From there we went on to clean up the car. We welded the part of the seat that broke off from the body and travis worked his magic on the motor. We're gonna try rebuilding the motor and rebuilding the carbs and of course a full tuneup and all that. 1. We still have an issue with it throwing blueish smoke... not too much but not too little either. 2. When your shifting into reverse it sounds like its grinding or something... Pics and videos! Engine Running Me trying to backup =P
  6. Thanks JSM, I'm going to give them a call tomorrow morning and have a chat with them.
  7. Ahh thats a different ball game then. I didn't realize that. I've got a way to go before I'm ready for the MS but I will let you know when I'm ready to get started with that portion of the build. Need to get the L24 running again first.
  8. Thanks for the tip. Yea I went through the stickies and saw how everyone was wiring stuff up... The emanage is basically a piggyback unit that lets you adjust your timing, fuel and air without having to ditch your ECU. I figured I would keep the emanage since I already have it (saves me the cost of having to buy an MS) At this point I guess I have 2 options 1. Keep the ECU and use a piggyback + run new wiring and new sensors 2. Run the MS-II and rewire everything.
  9. I was reading through this section for a good while trying to gather info on mega squirt. I used an e-manage blue with all the harnesses for my old setup on the Camry and I was wondering if its possible to re-use the e manage for my l28ET turbo swap... If I read correctly, if I actually used the Mega Squirt-II V 3.0 I would basically ditch the turbo ECU and rewire everything to the MS? Again the e-manage has all the harnesses so I could have full control over ignition, fuel and airflow, Which is pretty much all that needs to be controlled right? I did a search for info about the emanage and anyone using it but I didn't find anything much and there we no specifics as to whether or not they were using all the harnesses. Thanks!
  10. Hey guys. I wanted to get started on the Z before the cold weather sets in and I get even more lazy. I also want to be able to drive it around a little before I start the full restore. I had a few questions about what i'm going to do. I've got a few questions for body stuff but ill ask that in the other forum. The car is a 1972 240z with stock everything. lol. I did do some searches before I decided to post and I found some valuable info but I'm looking for just a little more information. 1. My friend was telling me that the car constantly stalls and the carbs need to be rebuilt. How hard is it to have them rebuilt, I like to do my own work, is it something I could do myself? What would be the best place to get the kit? I checked the Z store but i dont see any application for my car, maybe im looking in the wrong place. 2. Should I check anything else on the motor, are there any comon problems I need to look for or fix up? Appreciate any input, Thanks!
  11. Very nice piece, i'm gonna have to jump in as well. =D
  12. Better safe than sorry... Btw... Seatbelts ftw.
  13. Wow. amazing work... I'm going to have to follow this when I start working on my Z
  14. Yep just need to find that elusive motor and tranny along with the electrical stuff.
  15. Thanks, I've got a good body guy and he says don't even worry about it, he'll handle everything... My main goal is to get the motor, swap it in, turbo it and get it running.
  16. Just got a 1972 240z from my friend. It's been sitting in his backyard rusting away and I figured why not restore it and give it some power. After we finish the turbo setup in the camry i'll probably be parting it out and using all the turbo stuff for the l28 swap which seems to be one of the most common swaps... I still have tons of reading to do so I may disappear for a while Anyway here are some pics of the cars: And the camry: T3/T4 Turbo, 7mgte supra injectors, hks ssqv, tial 38mm wastegate, custom piping, xsturbo FMIC, AEM Wideband, autometer oil temp, pressure and boost, hayden oil and tranny coolers, stainless steel lines, aeromotive FPR, walbro255 fuel pump. Everything is being tuned with a emanage blue with all the harnesses (injectors, main and ignition) Audio powered by AMD CarPC 7 inch touchscreen
