  1. crazy... i didn't even know they had that...kinda pricey for such little time....but maybe worth it mainly welding on the expensive stuff like titanium, i wonder how much titanium they would actually let you weld on...a couple of filler rods is like 100 bucks alone!!!! i remeber my professor had like one piece of ti and all the students had to weld at least two beads no individual pieces were really handed out till later, but then we all had to return the pieces lol i guess mainly because he got all the material with his own money, seeing as how the school budget sucked..and we wasted a ton of stainless practicing tig...hmmmm anyone here go to the lincoln program?
  2. Plus buying gas and filler metal and paying the electric bill wont be cheap either
  3. community college lol thats where i learned, got certified and i am still going.lol Mt Sac baby!!! i highly recommend going to your local community college because u can weld as much as u can and learn all the science about it and its cheap...plus the teachers will usually let you use any of the equipment for some personal projects u might have.Trust me once u learn one process of welding you want to learn the next, who know's next thing u know your taking your certification tests lol
  4. hmmm very nice, i wish i could afford one now but i already spent too much on a miller tig machine.....i think anyone thinking of buying a good portable welder would definatley be the millermatic, its just so handy... im jealous congrats

  6. Hey, well here is my heap, this is my first Z got it june traded my sr s13 hatch for it. So far its been a great learning experience and it seems like the work in never ending on these cars but i love it.Motor was in horrible shape and lots of rust in the engine bay but after much work it turned out alright.
  7. looks good, no thumb or foot control? you using mig? or some sort of preset pulsed arc? dont tell me its smaw lol that would be crazy.Good work on the miters as well looks pretty smooth
  8. looks good man, good work. One question though how do u control the heat through a finger adjustment or a foot pedal? because if its a foot pedal u can manually pulse the arc and get some really nice beads with good penetration. but looks good for not knowing much about welding.makes me want to get started on my side exit exhaust for my 240z.Heres a pic of a side pipe setup on my old s13 love the 304 stainless
