  1. Rob has (here in New Zealand and now the UK) a massive reputation in building absolute grunter rb engines (particularly rb30dets). The only way to know what an engine can handle is to try and then see where it falls short. Why spend a huge amount of cash if you dont need to?! Hopefully Rob can answer this a bit better than me , and yeah, Rob!- any new developments?!!!
  2. i know this is an old thread. but i'm just in the middle of finding some of these "cheap" engine isolators. i found them on partsamerica, but they don't want to send them all the way over to me in New Zealand!! My local parts places can't seem to find any available here (even for all the different vehicles these mounts fit!). any ideas guys? i'm happy as to buy them via ebay if one of you is keen to sell me some! otherwise its gonna be $80 a side for the supra mounts which are a bit high for my install. Its an rb25det, using stock r31 rb20det cast steel mounts. Thanks.
  3. Thanks for the nice comments on my 2+2 guys!! i like to think it looks pretty sharp! Its taken 6 long years to get it looking like that! i bought it when i was 19. over those years i've bought 3 different engines which were going to go in (2X rb20dets in disrepair and rb25det). Its got koni adjustables all round, 4 pot brakes in front, and my own rear disc conversion (r31 skyline rotors, vr4 callipers, sorry- mitsi i know!!). R200 LSD, and coilovers as well. ZROSSA: no, i havent done any new rubbers yet! i've been trawling the net trying to find some, they all seem to be rather pricey. they are all i need to get the body sorted out.
  4. Heres a pic of my 2+2, has just been painted. i now installing an rb25det. and then i'll call it finished!!!
  5. Hi Rob. Will be great to see a 240 gracing the strip with an RB in it!! Did you sell the datto ute to fund this project?! i saw it on Trademe. I'm pretty much at the same stage as you with my 260z, ie building mounts and crossmember to fit my rb25det. although i'm only going to have probably 230-250kw!! I have been toying with the idea of laser cutting an alloy sump flange and making up a few alloy sumps to fit rb's in z cars, at the moment i just cut up an rb20 sump, spun it 180 deg, and then welded in extra material to allow extra oil capacity. making the baffles/ windage tray took a bit of nutting out but i reckon i got it sorted. Cheers Justin
