  9. Hey guys, got my swap done and it runs great, only problem is that the water temp gauge goes all the way hot as soon as the power is turned on. My only guess is that the sending unit is from the donor car (280zxt) and the gauge is the original 240z. Would that cause the problem? i tried connecting 2 other stock gauges and same problem. Any help would be great. Thanks

  16. Okay guys i want to apologize about not having updates. I have been extremely busy with my swap (l28et) but my dad has been effected by the economy and cannot do my little side projects right now. I will keep you all updated when i have a chance to progress. If anyone has a 60mm spacer or a blueprint of one that would be great, because it is a simple piece i can do those myself. i just don't have anything to go off of as for measurements. Please pm me if you have a blueprint, if someone has one i can borrow as a model i can pay for shipping and will ship it back as soon as i get all the measurements.
  17. Just out of curiosity, why don't you just fiberglass that piece? that would probably be easier because you can mess with it more and add on material if needed.

  20. hey everyone, my brothers car is sitting on the side of the road right now so we can use any help. all the electrical stuff shut off on him. we noticed that the starter wire that connects the harness to the starter melted and burnt the dizzy. what would cause that wire to melt? he crimped a new wire and connected it back to the starter and the electronics came back up, now we are putting in my dizzy so we can get the care home (hopefully it will work) but i want to know if anyone else has run into this problem and how to fix it so i don't have to get a new distributor every day. thank you feel free to email me because it goes straight to my phone and i'm going back to the car now. email: twista240z at gmail.com

  22. Believe me, i have been up and down these search forums and have taken in a lot of information from all the experienced members here. I am doing a stock l28et into my 71 s30. I believe i have everything (other than gas tank from 75-76) but the question i have is the wiring. when i bought the motor it cam with what i though was everything: complete motor afm ecu turbo injectors wiring harness (this is my question) the wiring harness has the fuel pump relay already connected but i do not see the EFI relay or a plug where it would go. I believe it is off an 83 280zxt because of the turbo dizzy and 3 plug ecu. am i missing another harness or am i just overlooking it? if there is only one harness, someone please send me a picture of what the plug looks like that connects to the efi relay. thanks
  23. i've searched for hrs and i've realized that everyone will have a different ideas or preference. So, here's what i am doing: 71 240z w/ l28et 60mm tb stock l28et ecu and wiring stock l28et fuel pump stock l24 gas tank new aluminum fuel line (3/8) garrett t3 turbo (from 300zx) supra fmic 1g dsm bov this is for a weekend car, maybe a daily since i am using the stock l24 tank i will be putting in a surge tank. my question is which is the most recommended/affordable fuel pump that i could use for the surge tank? also, which filters are the best to use with this setup? from all the searches it looks like it should be: fuel tank -> filter -> low pressure/high flow fuel pump-> surge tank->filter-> turbo pump-> aluminum fuel line-> fuel rail return line-> surge tank -> fuel tank
