Wow tonyd your making me want to just go all out with this now but it definatly takes time and money to get that far im sure but my current setup is weber 40dcoe, header (cant tell you where it came from cause I bought it off of an older gentleman who used to race 510's and Z's back in the day plus no markings or numbers on it) pertronix igntion conversion, electric fuel pump, upgraded ignition coil, and taylor wires. So far thats all ive done, but definatly want to do more....

Wow tony d u got alot of info and no I havent drove or felt a l6 with a 10k rpm but im sure I would definatly get a lil scared and yea sorry bout that last part im always open to talking to people about where to get the right parts and who to talk too again sorry I dont mean to step on anyones toes or get anyone angry, so anyways what your saying by trying to build a 432 replica is going to be way more then what im thinking as far as hp numbers are concerned and little fine details???

Thats what I want plus when I do drive my Z to and from work its a 26 mile drive one way mostly highway but driving high hp cars just becomes to much some times not saying I wouldnt love 1000hp car in the garage but driving it to the track and what not would definatly be a gas eater thats for sure....lol btw got ur pm definatly going to check emm out
  5. Lol yea that actually looks like a good product but yea the 25 does have power but....replica here as close to as possible for me but its still a good idea though
  6. Yea true but im not wanting to get into engine besides just replacing what needs to be replaced like timing belt and spark plugs basic stuff while the motor is out but ill look around for some engines and try some other places around here....

  8. Yea I love my Z mines definatly ruff on the out side but runs so well and seems like im fixing it about once a month I would really love to be driving it again but due to a broken crank pulley and super busy at work she just sits yet again
  9. thanks for the info tonyd now onward to find some that can get me the motor.... Although im sure if I call places that sell jdm engines someone will eventually have or be willing to find one...
  10. Yea I searched first I think I found his post if I rember correctly he was trying to use a msd ignitor box to run the c.a.s. And timing or something been a couple days since I read it but your setup sounds rather nice any places that sell the rb20 non turbo?

I truly have always wanted to do a 432 replica with my Z since day one of owning it although i do like your idea of the 7m idea hope u stick with it it would be pretty sick, ive been around high hp cars before but I just want to do a fun driver car and something great to look at since alot of people around where I live at and work at always stop me to check out my car ive had countless offers for people to buy my car and I do take the car to muscle car shows and alot of people generaly stop and stare so I definatly want to give them something to definatly think twice about whats under the hood...

Ok so I went to a local shop that deals mainly with imports and imports jdm motors and what not, and well I have been tossing around the idea in my head of doing a Z432 replica, so I inquired about getting a RB20de yes non turbo and convert it over to the tripple webers I got on my 71' 240z and everyone there gave me a funny look as to why would want to do this and they tried selling me a RB20det a 25det had some decent prices but I still want to do a Z432 replica and get it as close as possible as I can with my car being a left hand drive at least and not having to spend on a S20 engine and trans....any thoughts on a project of this kind and where I can find a motor for this kind of project.... Ok so im planning to put a sbc into my 240z using the JTR kit but my question is what trans to use so I can keep my car a manual transmission I have tried to search but still couldnt find an exact answer on what transmissions to use. Any insight to help me is much appreciated. And again yes I did use the search button. And no it dont matter if I use a 4 or 5spd transmission
  15. okay so i got a 71' 240z that i want to lower but am getting kinda confused about coilovers on here, maybe someone can point me in the right direction. okay so i want get my z kinda low and i want to go lower than what most spring and shock combo can do so my only option is going towrds a coilover setup so i have got that in mind and my questions are how much do i have to section out of the strut tube its self, where do i cut it to section it. and number 2 is what is a good shock that can be used when going lower than the 1.5 mark.... if anyone can help thanks in advance, nick
  16. hey man nice Z i just picked my first Z up not to long ago to restore and call my own i also have 2 kids my first born is a girl and is 2 my second is my son and he is only a few months old. but i like when i am outside with some friends i ask her which is her dads car and she always points to my z first, and then wants to jump into the drivers seat and pretend to drive, but never goes over to my 240sx though unless we have to go somewhere....but anyways good luck with your build hope you and your kids have a great time building it.
  17. anyways like th title say i would like to buy either a 240z or 260z preferably a manual trans. i live near memphis, tn and would like to buy something near here....so if anyone has something i have about 2k in cash and yes i know it aint gonna get me much so yes i will be making a little project out of it.
  18. i dont really have a nick name for my 240sx but a few people have called it "a monster" but i only have a KA N/A witha slight mods to it but hey its not about the straight line power for me.
