  1. Because of the giant smile on my face every time I turn the key. Because I can't drive it across town without getting a thumbs-up from someone I've never seen before. Because everytime I run to the store I have to answer a million questions and pop the hood for a new friend. Because with a little suspension work to go with the LS, the car is head and shoulders better than it was when new, and better, faster, and more fun than most new cars. Because I absolutely would not hesitate to drive it across the country and back. Because stepping on the loud pedal results in instant woodies.

    That's why!

That right there is motivation enough.

I do like this thread, I am saving up to get my Broken Kitty mounts for my LS1 swap, I have heard this journey will require thousands of dollars and lots of sweat, time and tears. Dont let it intimidate you guys! I will surely not let it get me down. I am shooting for summer of 2009 to get my baby on the road with an LSx setup!

  2. I got the damn hood fixed! It took 3 of my buddies that were conveniently there haha. The hood was unbolted from the front, had one of them hold it up so I could get my arm in there. I found the frayed wire :icon54:, got some plyers, snagged it after a couple try's and pop! I got the latch and lifted the whole hood off the car! I had them hold the hood up so I could re bolt it back in the front, and then put it back down to where it latched, but wasnt all the way down.

I then immediately went to drive her for the first time in forever it felt and took pics! Do you think the wheels on the 240sx would look good on my Z?

  3. Sounds like a decent deal you got if its in great shape. Personally I'd slap a V8 in there because thats what I am doing haha. Members on here have made some good numbers on here with L28 converted to fuel injection, mega squirt, and running a turbo. And there are people who have V8's who are making good power too. It's all your preference :). If it has 49,000 original miles, I'd sell it haha, are you sure its not 149,xxx miles?

I wish my 240z had new carpets and an uncracked console =/. Its close though lol.

  4. Ok I dont want to use the Saw Zall.

Does anyone think that they can take a picture of where their hood cable goes exactly to under their hood latch. I think this will be helpful for me so when I get under this beast again , or lift the front now, I know where Im putting the screwdriver to pop it.

  5. Yeah. I am glad that my Z is in great shape. She has some small, not so noticeable body dings that could be fixed, but I just want to get the swap/project done and then paint can come last. I will probably be spending a lot on the paint job as well. I want to keep it silver as it is the original color, but we'll see

  6. Depends on what it is... If you have a body kit... it will be more. The paintjob i am getting is going to be close to the $5,000 range.... might break $5,000. I know i should be getting back at least 200$ maybe/probably more. Not too bad for being 16 years old....

$5000 is a lot! I bet its going to be an uber nice paint job. I just have an air dam on mine, thats all

  7. well I'm getting about $6500 dollars I'm going to paint and do some suspension modification on my 1974 Z turbo

What color are you going to paint your car? I have seen great quality paint jobs that are $3k + is that what your looking at? I want to get my Z painted Silver again, with a real glossy coat and for it to "get done right" its going to cost over $2,000 =/. So thats going to happen last probably for me

  8. I figured out my tax refund is going to be like $600 including the stimulus package money! I am a college student and this $600 is surely going to help me get my Z project rolling. What is everyones plans with theirs?
