  1. I decided to try my own setup with 6 HSR45 Mikunis. I had previously run Weber 45's. I used the original linkage so that I could return to the Webers if I wasn't happy with Mikunis. Because of the shape of my extracters I had to add some extensions as The bowl of carb 4 was hitting the exhaust. Apart from that it was pretty straight forward with the carbs being quite straight forward to tune. The throttle response is very good and although I wasn't looking for it the mpg is much improved over the Webers.
  2. Enkei Compe 15 x 8" 0 offset with 225 45 x 15 Nitto NT01 tyres for the track
  3. A couple of pics of my orange '74 260Z with Konig 15 x 7 rims and also some Performance 14 x 7 rims, I think the dark/black centre and polished rim suits an orange Z!
  4. Check out this bit of Aussie ingenuity! http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?topic=12273.msg126270;topicseen#msg126270
  5. Try some pads for a Mazda Series 4 RX7 they are nearly identical in shape and all you have to do is weld up the pin holes and redrill them sligfhtly lower. Only about a half hour job and you can get a better range of performance pads. I have Hawk and they are terrific if a bit dusty. Good for the track.
  6. has not set their status

  7. My 260 when it had 14 x 7" wheels with 206 x 60 x 14 tyres
  8. Fenderbender02, If your 'relatives live at Shellharbour, you could contact Nick 'Nixcars' on the Classic Z Car site. He lives not far from there and always has Z bits. He may be able to help if you get desperate. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/search.php?searchid=397020
  9. Dave You should check, but I believe one way to get more adjustment is to use the track rods off a 280 which are a bit longer (1/2 inch or so) The problem is that they are both rh thread, whereas the 240/260 is rh and lh thread. What you have to do is get a spare steering rack and swap the rh thread rack end fitting into your rack on the car. With 2 rh thread ends you can then use the 280 track rods on your rack and get some more adjustment.

  16. 260DET Richard, where do the Fortuna kits come from? Are they sold by Allan Steen in Brisbane? Geoff
  17. The owner of KMac spoke at our last Sydney Z club meeting. The top of strut camber/castor kits are only for later model Z's. The only kits they have for the early 240/260's is one that mounts through the lower control arm pivot like the eccentric camber adjusters. These kits however require you to weld a slotted washer to the cross member and then slot the cross member hole so that when the eccentric snail is turned the arm moves along the slot to adjust the camber. They say it gives up to 2 degrees. I haven't spoken to anyone who has used the kit and don't know how good the system works, ie whether the bolts tighten enough to stop the adjustment from slipping under load. cheers, Geoff
  18. Simon, Sorry for that I am from the old school of feet and inches. As long as you got the message. Geoff
  19. Simon, Just changed the box in my 260 the other week. From my measurements it is about 788cm to the end of the box where the seal is and about 790 to the end of the mainshaft. HTH Geoff
