I am using a 81-83 zx 5 speed, and for what it is worth which ever rear diff that I use I plan on putting a Phantom Grip in it, so soon I will have some feed back on that to. KG78Z

I have Tokico springs on my 78 and I love them. They are a firmer ride but the increase in handling was amazing. This one of the first upgrades I did to my Z. I do not know any spring rates. KG78Z

Shortly I am going to be putting a turbo L28 into my 78 280Z. My donor car has an automatic transmission, I curently have a 5 speed with a 4.11 rear diff. I plan onswitching back to a 3.7 rear diff. I believe that my parts car with the automatic has a 3.7 rear diff in the car (please correct me if I am wrong). If it is a 3.7 rear diff in the parts car will the speedometer cog from the automatic transmission fit into my 5 speed? Thanks for any help. KG78Z

My buddy and I have a car ready to paint and we were wondering where you start to paint? We were thinking from the top down but what about fender wells and door jams and over spray. Which is best top to hood, top to trunk, or top to sides? Any help is greatly appreciated. KG78Z

I am inthe process of putting a turbo engine into my 78 280Z. I have got a boost gauge that I am going to put in place of my broken clock, I would like to put an oil temp gauge inplace of my round driver side air conditioner vent. Has anyone done this? How do I figure out what I need to adapt this area to hold a gauge? Thanks for the help? KG78Z

I think that the adapters a great idea and will get some for myself. A couple of questions how do they attach to theo old studs and stay attached without coming loose. I'm not doubting just curious because I cannot tell from the pictures. Thanks for indulging my curiosity. KG78Z

I have been looking for a 87 - 89 300zx turbo to get the r200 lsd and put it in my 280. I have been searching the archivews and have not found out if the 300zx turbo needs to be from a car with an automatic or standard transmission, or does it make a difference? Thanks for the help. KG78Z

With these tires being so sticky, what is their durability like? Just curious because one day I will need new tires. KG78Z

I have used both and if all you have changed is the transmission then I would definatly go with the 4.11. I am useing it now and it pulls through all gears, to pass someone you do not need to change out of 5th, which I had to with the 3.9. KG78Z

I found a throttle body foe a 240sx the guy who is selling wants $75.00, is this a good price? KG78Z

I'm not sure, he told me but I was getting so much info that I forgot sorry. Anyway the price for the turbo and down pipe was $800.00. Since I do not have a core to exchange the prices I have been getting for a hybrid turbo have been high and I thought if this was a good set up to run hey I would have a good turbo and something different. I am looking for a turbo. The engine I have does not have a turbo it is from a 81zxt. I have been calling around and one our Z friends started telling me about a Mitsubishi TD06 turbo he has for sale. It sounded good and I could be interested but I cannot find any additional info about that turbo. Do any of you have any experience with this turbo and how good do you think it would be. thanks for your help. KG78Z

I have done quit a few seaches trying to get names of places to buy a turbo. Does anyone have a place that they got an unbelievable deal or excellent service they could pass on. The main ones I found were TEC, Turbo Specialties, and Majestic Turbo. Since I have no core to exchange where do you guys think will be the best. Thanks for the help. I am new to this forum andI realize this had already been covered and I have searched and gotten some excellent info, I still need more here is some back ground. I recently purchased a 280ZX turbo so I could put the engine in my 78 280Z. Since then nothing has been done. The engine, an 81 zxt, has no turbo, and no ecu. Now the way I see it this gives me some flexability when it comes time to put the engine in my car. I do not know how fast I want it to be but I will want it to be buildable so that I can make it faster as I become more of a speed junkie. Do I start with a stock turbo or go to the t3/t4, stock ecu or some sort of upgrade. Any help or being pointed in the right direction is greatly appreciated.
