  1. Hello All! I'm looking for people who run 16x8 or 16x7 inch rims on their 240z's without fender flares. Can you please share some pics and specs on your tire/offset choices? And the rims of course! Seems 16" wheels are harder to find for the 240z. So what are you running? Thanks everyone!
  2. What size wheel/tire/offset are you going to order? I'd love to see pics when you get them. I'm still undecided between the shakotans and the spinwerks.
  3. For anyone else interested in this, I found a threaded hole in the rear upper panel along the hatch. The bolts that came with the extra kit from Wesco fits directly in it. I think this may work and seems like the easiest and least intrusive way of doing this.
  4. Will the Spinwerk 82's be ok in city driving? I see they are super light and make me wonder how well they will hold up to city pot holes. Anyone with experience in this department?
  5. Rooger82 I just saw the Spinwerks 82's in the wheels thread. I love those rims, they look amazing. They are more than I would want to spend, but we will see how badly I want them soon enough! I'm even leaning toward 16's now instead. I met a guy today with a Z who had 16's and they just look like the perfect size on a 240z. Any other suggestions similar to the Spinwerk 82's and or Diamond Racing wheels? Thanks to all who have helped/posted in this thread so far.
  6. Sorry, attaching the pictures turned them upside down for some reason. Hopefully you still get the idea. The hole is above the rear wheel well.
  7. Hey all, I hope this is in the right section. I just got my Wesco Performance 3 point retractable seatbelts and I'm trying to install them in my 1971 240z. I just want to see what those of you who have installed these have done. Did you weld, drill, fabricate? Where and how did you mount the top point with the retractor. Here's 2 pics of what it looks like with the side panel off and my idea is to take the circular plate that came with it and weld it to that already existing hole. What do you all think? Good idea, or bad? Will this be strong enough or am I better off just finding a good point to drill? Thanks for looking!
  8. I've been looking at these rims on a similar tire set up. Look great! Did you have to roll your fenders or modify anything to prevent rubbing?
  9. Nice Z! No those look good. I would still want to fit a little more tire in there for my personal taste tho. Seems there is a good selection of 215/60-15 sized tires still. According to a calculator this would give me 25.2" x 8.46" x 15. My set up right now is 24.7" x 7.68" x 14. Maybe I can get those 15x7 Shakotan's and put these on it. Would 225/60/15 be too big for a 15x7 wheel? This seems to be the only 225 size for 15 inch wheels that has a decent selection still.
  10. I saw these, but I'm hoping to find them in 15x8. I guess if I can't find it, this is always an option. Not too sure about the +4 offset tho.
  11. After going back and forth a million and 1 times, I'm leaning toward the shakotan's. I saw a picture of them with a black center and I knew those were the ones. Does anyone know where to get these? I guess I can paint them, but I'd rather avoid that if possible. I'm leaning toward 15x8 or 15x9. I really like the big tire look. Will 225/60/15 be too much in the rear? Or should I just do 225/50/15 all around?
  12. Anyone have Rota Shakotans, Varrstoen V2 or Rota OS Mesh? I'd love to see some pics on a Z.
  13. Here's a few pics I took today. Hope this gives a better idea of what I can fit under the stock fenders. Seems there's a greater selection of 15" rims, but less tires for 15".
  14. I really like the look of the Diamond SC's. Kind of simple and retro looking. Probably fit better with american muscle, but I like the look. Anyone know of alloys that have a similar appearance? In 4x144.3 of course.
  15. I guess I've been looking more at looks than quality. Hopefully I can Find something inbetween. I really like the look at the Diamond SC series wheels. Does anyone know of better quality rims that have a similar appearance and fit the 240z? Here's what they look like http://www.diamondracingwheels.com/index.php/street-wheels/sc-series
  16. yeah I did go through about half of the wheel thread. It takes awhile to go through 88 pages I found these that I really like. Drag DR-27 16x8.25 What do you think? The online place I found them has offset 15 tho. That means they will stick out and rub probably right?
  17. Thanks for your help Blu. Yeah after I posted this I saw a review on those rims. I guess I just like the look. Maybe I'll have to look for something else. Any other suggestions? I'm looking for something with a nice deep dish
  18. Hi everyone! First time poster and proud new 1971 240Z owner here. I could use a little help from all of you knowledgeable members. I'm looking for some rims to replace my stock wheels. I'm just struggling with wheel and tire sizes. My car is lowered, by how much I'm not too sure. It came like this from 2 previous owners ago. Best idea I can give you is it currently sits on 195/70/14 all around with a 2 finger gap. I'm looking to go as wide as I can without rubbing/rolling the fenders. I'm currently looking at the Diamond SC series wheels. Are these any good or is there something similar you'd recommend? I think they come in 15x7 and 15x8. Do they come in 16s? I didn't see them on their website. So I guess my question is what is the widest rim/tire set up I can run on my 240z for 15 and 16 in size wheel? Thanks for your help in advance!
