  1. I do not like to post threads at all but i could not find this answer anywhere I looked. SIMPLE question,Are the mounting points the same on each block? I found an engine at a friends junk yard,If i wanted to build a vq35de should i use the pathfinder block to save some money? FEEL FREE to delete this post after its 60secs of fame!
  2. I have a friend that was telling my about a company that makes mounts for vw's.He had a bus with a toyota pick up engine in it.I cant remember the name but im sure if you google "vw mounts" it'll pop up.Sorry i cant remember the name though.
  3. Hey,I was wondering what you thought of the 7mgte,I got a free supra (complete car) and a separate 7mgte motor both for free,you think i should swap in an 7mgte (from a mechanical standpoint) or buy a LS1,RB,or SR,ect... Thanks

Hi Guys,I have a '78 280z and Im putting in a '04 GTO LS1/T56 But the motor mount question is this...In the JTR booklet it says you can use 1965-72 chevy trucks prt no.3990332.But I've been looking around and can't find someone who has used them.Do they work using them the way the JTR manual says to modify them adding spacer and set-back plate?   5. its a toyota 91' cressida,a car with the 7m supra engine but in the states it only came N/A and automatic.so we bought 2 and swaped in supra 5spds.But when you swap a tranny from automatic to manual (vice versa) you need to clip some wires in the ecu or place the wires in different places,so the car doesn't think its in park all the time...?Does someone have a diagram or maybe have done it before? Thanks
  6. 78' 280z auto,Doing a five speed conversion,I have all the parts and should be driveable in a day.But I helped someone do a conversion on a cressida and i didn't go the day the fixed the computer so it thinks it is in neutral and for the clutch to have to be engaged to start. Need Info tonight,gonna hopefully finish the 280z conversion tomorrow... Can someone send me a link are point me in the right direction?Need to now how to rewire the auto computer? Thanks

Want to Swap something into my 78 280z which im fixing up,Preferably for drifting and going fast Period So handling/weight would be a factor.Im Looking into the following swap the most...RB25det (quick 285hp,still nissan/i6,) But motor mounts are expensive.I could have some made but i dont know how good theyd come out.#1 How hard is it of a swap?#2How much boost can be safely ridden with stock turbo and engine with IC?#3How does it handle?#4 Is Neo-Tech a good place for imported engines?#5And of coures how quick is it really?

For sure,Its kinda wild because the 280z is auto and i got all the clutch parts for less then 28 dollars and it had a brand new Clutch Master cylinder i found.but its being converted to be converted,if that makes sense.(Just thought id throw that out there).But what about megasqaurt on the lt1?(Im the noobest when it comes to megasqaurt)Ha...PS:I'm gonna leave the outside shitty* silver like it is,so civic noobs with all but an intake think they can take the beast. But megasqaurt...Yes or no?can it even work?

Much Thanks,The engine has "98 camaro lt1" written on it in yellow ink but i dont think it came in 98!?1?I'll get the casting number and check it out.But im 90% sure its a 95-97 lt1...I think and hope i come through with a T-56.And about making it carbureted,It wont pass/Be approved at the referee center which someday i hope to visit and make the Rocket street legal.I'LL let you know "jerminator" about a harness if you see this befor your PM... Thanks for everyones help like always!
  10. I appreciate it alot,There is only one problem.The LT1 doesn't have a computer or wiring harness which might be hard to find and almost pricey.But one should pop up one day...Im going to start on the motor trans this week. THANKS!

It is true,both for free.I got the jtr catalogue and read it but some things are still a bit foggy (Really great book,that helps a million) But about t5's and 350 lt1's can you drive it daily or is it better to invest in a T56 and refinance my house(J/K),On a more serious note is there anyone who regrets the t5 and thinks they should have gone with a T56? And how much will a decent quality driveshaft run me? Opinions Gladly taken!!! Please no replys that say "Search" Or "Read"! Please...
