Are the black turbo injectors at autozone good or bad? Or should I spend more money and buy from Arizona Z car?
-
Awesome!!! Thats what I was looking for!!! I don't have hydraulic. Thankyou for your help.

Where do I go to buy brand new Quality l28et rocker arm springs? The search button didn't help. Thanks for your time.

They will all fit. Swaped out the automatic on 81 turbo for a 81 n/a. I completely destoryed it. I rebuilt it twice. Then i got a 5 speed from a 82 n/a. It was night and day stronger. I use a fidanzza 10 lb flywheel. It helps faster shifting. I use the car mostly for drag racing. It's going on two years of racing and working great...

I had that same problem.... times 4. i was sick of messing with it so took it all off and put a big red start button. I got it at pep boys.

My point is I've seen such a huge range of dyno results between rwhp and the advertised hp of vehicles, that it's absolutely silly to try to make that statement. Somewhere between 8 and 40% difference, depending on the car, and the original hp claim. That's such a huge range that it makes any back conversion akin to a random guess...
That is a good point also.
All I was trying to say to him was that my car made more hp than a stock 280zxt with 4 psi. Which he stated was completly impossible. The whole discussion was about making more power in other ways. Besides just turning up the boost controller. He also stated that even with a modified engine. There is no way a l28 could ever, in any posible way, make 300hp, or even 300rwhp with only 10 psi.
So a better question, am I crazy of saying that it is possible?
-
You should claim 180rwhp and nothing else.
the whole point was that it was being compaired to the stock power. a stock car does not put 180 hp to the wheel. i was try to compair apple with apples. to say my car made as much power as a stock dose not make sense to me.
-
i was just asking becuse the first time i put my car on the dyno i got 180whp 210tq. so i told some guy on myspace i made 215. it was being compared to the stock 180hp claimed by nissan. but i did this with 4psi. i had a cracked hose on the turbo. more over there was a bend in one of my intake porpeller blades. i think a rock got in there or something. it came with the car. i could not tell if it was the boost gauge or the turbo before i put on the boost controller and a new boost gauge. i had a n-42 intake, 3 inch stait pipe, cold air intake, walbro 255 pump, no belts. only altenator, 91 octane. everthing eles was stock at the time. he said this was completly impossible. it made him so mad that he deleted me from myspace? i don't know what a stock 280zxt with 200,000 mile puts down to the wheels a mile high. so i compared it to the factory claim. is claiming 215hp way too much?

When I had my car dynoed at Mac Mann Motor Sports of Parker Colo. They est. that there was 20% power loss through the drive train. I know there are many variables, but do you think this a good middle ground?
-
i think it a bad idea also. i haven't really checked them out. i just saw it and thought i would ask.
-
ok my two cents...
flat top pistons
p-90 head, try to get it port and palished get shaved a little. not too much
build it like a n/a. the key is flow. build the flow and the power will come
spray nitous into the intercooler
put heat rap on everything. control the heat and help prevent detonation which is bad. if you can get e-85 that would be best.
with a good tune it will be fun. go ems:burnout:
-
is this a good turbo? do you think the stock waste gate will work on it?
-
the offical answer my own question.... change out the pistons. you can buy them from 7.0 to 9.5. then a diffrent head and you can get 12 to 1. that is how you change it.... i am going with 8.8 flat top pistons. i am also shaving my p-90 head a little. and to make it rev to 8,000 and have the power band go that hight need a new ems. the stock one leans fuel at 5,500, 240 rods, 9lbft flywheel, super racing dampaner, and a fully balanced crank shaft. also a newly rebult head so the rocker arms don't go flying. found that one out the hard way.
thanks for the help...lets see how long it stays together

to the dyno!!!

Pure antifreeze? Is somebody yanking your chain?
What happens if you remove it and run the car for a while. Does it return?
i am porting head right now so well see. i am the only person i let touch my car. and i don't think i am lying to myself. ok maybe, it is a 50/50 mix of water and coolent. no oil. at all.

I believe there's a couple of heater blocks with coolant lines running to them on the intake. One should on the throttle body the other under the AAC Valve. Check those for leaks.
has this ever happend to anyone? it has to be the aac or the the throttle body. but it very strange.
-
mostly stock. n-42 intake its been on there for a year. lots of miles. has all the stock vacum lines.
-
1981 280zx turbo. there was anti freeze between my turbo and throttle body.
-
i thought i blew the headgasket because my car was making the largest whit smoke cloud i have ever seen! but when i took off the head the headgasket was fine.
moreover, there was at least 3 cups of pure antifreeze in my charge pipe and in my intake manifold. how is this even possible?????
i looked for cracks but i found none. could it come threw my throttle body?
-
They are 15x10 -45s. With a 195/60 on it. ha. Eagle Alloy wheels.
are sure that is safe? i don't know if that is bad. but it cant be good.
i have 275 on a 9.5 inch rim. it works. but i need 285.
you have a 10 inch rim with 195. the side walls must touching the ground?
-
im out of town right now. ill be there next week.
when i get back i'll tell you where and how to buy them. they do not rub at all. they are completly in the fenders. hadling is nite and day better. but it is hard to brake. it make the brakes hot, then they stop working. so look at braking options.
i will start a thred on this. not just tell you to search like some people.
-
how did you do it? what kind of power does it make?
-
thanks guys!!! all of your input is great! keep it coming.
i just can't get over my thought. to be put simply, if you put the same mount of gas and the same amount of air in a smaller space, you should have a bigger explotion. ie more power.
what i really want is a high reving, high flowing n/a, and put a turbo on it.
to be honest... i like blowing up my engine. its the only way i learn not to do something. i can swap out a tranny now in a couple of hours. it use to take a week. 4 hours for a head gasket. no one ever tought me anything about cars. i learn all on my own. then i foung this site. it helps to get advice from other z people. thanks guys.
