Well, I just paid for a T5 with drive shaft and dif. Waiting on the parts place to call me so I can pick it up. I will be installing it all next week...or maybe the week after. It's gonna be a nightmare, Im sure. Good thing is I get to buy a few new toys, like a short shifter. Saw on Zdriver that Bleach was able to use a cheap one off ebay with really good results. Im all about cheap, as long as it works. I doubt anyone will pull up my shift boot to point and laugh at me. On another note, I was able to completely rebuild my idler pulley for my power steering. I found it in the hatch badly rusted. I cleaned it up real well and bought new nut/washer/bolt and a bearing from "bearing distributors inc", who, by the way, are the cheapest and best place to get bearings if you find you need any, it cost me 5.50 for a new one. So, after I put the tranny in Im going to see about working the intercooler piping so that I can have power steering again and I may swap out the radiator so I can close the dang hood. -
Thanks man, I appreciate everyone's help, I just got one locally a few hours ago, lucked up on the price and everything. Im sure everyone selling one will get it sold. Thanks again!

Im going to a local place tomorrow that may have one, if not, I will probably go with you. From what I understand and have read, the drive shaft is shorter on the T5, since my car is an 83 I should already have an R200 (my car wasnt a stock turbo) I just need to find the drive shaft? Sorry to noob out on you. Im still searching to make sure I have my information together Thanks for the offer man, people like you are the reason I wanted to join the forum, very thoughtful. I will most likely go with Jamal's offer though. You guys have been helpful. I will update tomorrow, should find out in the morning, eastern time. Thanks guys!

If anyone has a t5 they want to part with, let me know. My NA tranny finally bit the dust.

Nice, do you have any pics of your battery set up? Is this in the Z or ZX? I tried looking for info about the water pump being able to handle it, I didn't have much luck finding info. -

Im going to be putting it in the spare tire well on the passenger side. I am running 0 gauge wire from the battery to the terminals under the hood, then 4 gauge to the starter. The battery will have a 150Amp Circuit breaker mounted on it. 150A seems to be the norm to be able to start the car. I know a lot of people are probably going to be upset with the idea of moving the battery 50/50 weight distribution etc, but really, if I was worried about the 50lb gain in my hatch area I would lose 100lbs myself to make up for it. On another note... I think my transmission is about to go. It sounds like there is no transmission fluid in it, loud, it was damn near screeching when I drove home this morning ( I have to work on my car at work, on my days off of course, I live in an apartment, plus Im on night shift). So, since Im not risking driving thirty miles to check it myself, Im going to call around and see if someone will do a flush for me. I hope it can be easily remedied. Im on the lookout for a T5, the na tranny shouldnt have this much hp on it anyway...from what I have read at least. On another another note....I bought a champion triple pass radiator a few months ago and just put it in last night, man, it looks awesome!....except one minor detail, I can't close my hood. I have only found one person that mentioned they had the same issue, but they never posted anything about a resolution. Im going to email Champion and ask them wtf. It is sitting as low as it can, I may be able to angle it, but that will get me really close to the fan. The only good thing that came out of tonight was that I was finally able to install the power steering pulley on my car, turns out I didnt have to pull the pulley off of mine, just had to remove the six screws from the spare pulley I got, put the small pulley on my car and voila! done. I sand blasted and polished my idler pulley...which was hidden in the hatch area and covered in rust, I just need a new bearing, there is a place close to me that has bearings of all sizes, theyre pretty cool, guess Ill check them out tomorrow. Looks like Im driving my fiancees jetta again. -

Well, some of my stuff did come in for doing my battery move/engine bay cleanup, but I cant get it done due to rain and lack of things I need to finish the job, one guy sent me the wrong part....pissed. I went ahead and built my "battery distribution center" that will sit in the place of my battery. As you can see, it was made with old speed limit signs, part of me wants to paint it, the other likes the way it looks...open to opinions. Pieces layed out with my tools: This is what it looks like inside, it will have my little fuse blocks and lots of wire running through it when Im done. And this is with the lid on. I still have not attached it, I dont know if I want to hinge it or fasten it with....something. -

Really liking this on the ZX. I saw a pic of a zx with 260z tail lights..looked like they were bolted on and not molded in....not that nice in my opinion. Either way, I like the pic. -

Well, last night while I was at work I had plenty of time to think about it. The solution was not to replace the alternator, it was to not be an idiot. The PO had glass tube fuses put on this terrible terminal strip thing, I replaced that with Maxi fuse blades and a little box, well, I used the same ratings he had used, the glass fuses were full of rust and hatred, they were all blown but passed current. The Maxi fuses are plastic and when they fail, they fail. Long story short, he was using two 35 amp fuses in parallel for a connection that requires 1 80Amp fuse. (Running two fuses in parallel defeats the purpose of a fuse). so I replaced it with a rigged fusable link, car is running, battery is not dead. Why I did not figure that out the instant I discovered where that wire went, I will never know. Either way, I am off all next week, I ordered some stuff off Amazon and will be relocating my battery and cleaning up my engine bay, it needs it bad, removing wires that are just hanging and go no where and locating all my fuse boxes to where the battery was. If I can get everything I need I will be installing my MSD as well. -

Even more issues...looks like my electrical gremlin never went away. I have two fuses that kept blowing, turns out they both went to the same wire, the wire is the one that connects to BAT on the alternator. I was stuck in traffic and the more we slowed down, the worse the car acted. Started stuttering horribly, loss of spark from what I could tell, finally some jack ass slammed on his brakes because the guy 800 feet ahead of him tapped his brakes, I stomped mine, car died and would not crank. Battery was completely dead. Im confused, this wire goes straight from the battery to the alternator, no stops anywhere between, so I guess my new alternator is bad... -
Anyone know what front air dam this is?

5k is what I was thinking, I havent done much research recently, mind has been on other things. I appreciate the complements, but I can't take all the credit. The previous owner got the car where it is. I have a long ways to go though. Even longer now, I just punctured a fuel line with a damn power drill while trying to patch a rust spot. Looks like Im going to have to find a way to get the car in the air and band it or something. -

Dapper lighting had these on eBay, I made an offer and they accepted it. Brightness....not sure how to quantify it, they seem really bright, but the light is a little too soft....if that makes sense. I think I need a different temp of bulb, these are 3k -

That part about "figure it out easily enough" shouldn't be an insult to those who are not familiar with fiber glass or carbon fiber . Probably should have worded that better. -

Here is what I sort of started with: I took a three gauge pod that the PO had sort of installed on the pilar and cut off the bottom pod, it sat way too close to the dash, plus I am moving that gauge to the center of the dash. I riveted it to the pilar, did a little molding with air dry clay and fiber glassed over that. Then I used some body filler, sanded the hell out of it and experimented with the UV cure stuff tonight....which did not work out as well as I had hoped, but it did work. And if anyone is wondering, I painted the piece so that when I sand I can easily find all the low spots. Im going over the filler with a UV glaze, I will sand that smooth then I will lay carbon fiber over the final piece. I will probably install the pilar before I get to the carbon fiber part, need a place to put my gauges and would rather have a half done pillar than nothing at all. If any one wants, I can do a completely separate write up, but for right now I figure most people on this site can figure it out easily enough. -

Had someone openly express their dislike for my head lights today.....form vs function. They may not be the most attractive lights on the market, but man, they do the job, dual beam HIDs and I got them for a good price. Any who, the "fuel leak" evidently doesnt exist....could not find any explanation for the spot I saw on the intake manifold by the injectors, after wiping away, nothing has come back, but I did notice the down pipe seems pretty restrictive...and beaten...like.....with a hammer. Still working on my A-pillar pod, I bought UV curing resin so I could do it quick, since I live in SC.....but its been cloudy and it would only cure to extremely tacky, so I bought a black light, see if it works. Ill post pics later. -

Well, friend of mine welded some brackets on my passenger S2000 seat....mounted it..no good. I screwed up and didnt get it close enough to the transmission tunnel, so I will be doing a little cutting to get it in better, changed spark plugs and lowered the fuel pressure. I did some searching on the site and found that my fuel pressure was way way too high at idle, and since its a rising rate, it was probably incredibly too high under boost. So I lowered it down to 30psig from 42psig at idle. Car doesnt bog as bad in low rpm, doesnt reek of unburned fuel and the best part is I am getting almost twice the gas mileage....well, at least I am getting many more miles per gallon than gallons per mile. Just changed the plugs and it cruises beautifully at low rpm and doesnt stutter when getting on the gas. The plugs were pretty fouled, figure mostly from running so rich. Now the bad: Looks like I have a small fuel leak coming from one of the last two injectors, I have no idea how these injectors are mounted, plus I just now found this out five minutes ago after a spirited drive, testing out the plugs. With a non webbed intake manifold and a hot turbo, Im not too keen on messing with the fuel rail to get to the injector at the moment. This sucks because she is my daily driver right now. Near future: Fix fuel leak, fix up my a pillar gauge pod, continue rustoration, get the d@mn seats to fit, clean the intake filter, change the radiator, attempt to reinstall power steering....got a long few months ahead. -
Sorry I did not update this thread.....months ago, but I got all my gauges in..not installed yet, but man..are they pretty, lol. Pretty excited to have all matching gauges. Thanks ihiryu, Ill be back for a boost gauge eventually.
