  1. The only input I can provide is that it looks great. And they still have to buff it? That will surely look nice!
  2. I have the MSA intake. It's a little pricey but I think that if you ever have any problems with anything you'll probably be taken care of by MSA. At least that is my gut instinct because I've yet to have a problem with them. Since you are in CA I'd suggest you keep your old intake just in case. I think it's technically not legal in California to change that out but the cars are so old maybe the smoggers won't notice.
  3. I ran into this photograph and then remembered this thread. This kind of looks more like an S30 though it's a 280ZX.
  4. I'm pretty certain I ran those tires many years ago on my 280ZX. But that was before I had the vehicle lowered and you didn't mention anything about that. I run 215/60 R14s. I personally don't really need to worry that much about traction, at least not to that extent, and I prefer to push a lighter tire down the road. Hopefully others will 2nd what I said about the 225s working.
  5. Cody, I sent you a PM. I don't want to hijack this thread but I do want to know more about your wheels and seats.
  6. I think that's a really slick looking 280ZX. I like how you painted the chrome areas on the bumpers. I think that's a clever idea. What size wheels are you running? Fronts look different than the rears. And your seats look after-market, what did you put in there? I'm certain it's a reflection, but it almost looks like you have a turbo scoop on the hood lower than is usual or is that part of the Jansport modification? Very attractive color and very clean looking.
  7. I can't figure out how to edit my original post. I took an up-to-date photo this past weekend and wanted to replace the old one but am unable to because I can't edit the original message and now that I removed my old photo from my web site, it doesn't appear in my original message. The photo makes it look better than it really does when up close; afterall, it's a 26-year old car. Below is my 1982 280ZX as of May/17/08. Build date is actually 12/1981, if that matters to anyone. Cool, my thumbnail is appearing down below now too. Double vision!
  8. Signing in here with my first post to this web site. I have a 1982 280ZX that I have owned for about 20-years now and which saw heavy use in my 20's and has been barely driven the past several years. In fact, the battery was dead for the last one-year and she just sat in the garage until about a month ago when I installed a new battery changed all the fluids and she's running again. Hearing her engine and driving her around the block a bit has renewed vigor in renovating the car now and thus am perusing all these Z sites I can find. I've performed some renovation to the ZX in the past with new carpet, new dashboard and was repainted about five-years ago. I have the Tokico Performance Handling package in the garage ready to go as well as a full set of polyurethane bushings and I'm contemplating going with new anti-sway bars but am not sure about that. She's not a daily driver. I also want to install the MSA catback 2.5" exhausts but have not purchased it yet. And lastly, am kind of toying with the idea of a lighter flywheel but I don't want anything too light that'll really mess up acceleration from a stop. Overall, I am bound to play by the California emissions rules. Here's the picture of my ZX. It's a couple years old but she looks exactly the same because she's always in the garage.
