  1. Jim, how long is your Lokar cable, I measured 36, but seems like people are getting 48", which length did you put on yours. thanks Kyle
  2. ok, yes I was looking at Jembos pics, and thought they were yours. working on the old girl and using this phone doesnt help. Thanks Jim for all your help. Feeling great.
  3. Ok, am i right?, we have the same bolting patten, it looks different than your last mount pics.
  4. Jim, thanks for getting back with me, I have studied your pics and mine, something is way different on my engine. I cant make mine bolt up like yours, it pulls the motor 4"s forward to the radiator. really looking at your pics vs mine, your mount is perfect on all most all 6 bolts. Man, I wonder what could be wrong with mine. I did the motor mounts just like yours
  5. Also, I looked at your photos of the motor mount position you used. Mine was basically reversed what you did, I have the second bolt from the firewall forward. I know that the ls1 has 6 bolts that can be used, but I used the 2 sets closed to the firewall like CX racing showed on their install video. Now Cx was using the last bolt hole not second, I bet that is why they tell you that you have to use a high mount alt bracket. Do you think your mounts being bolted forward will cause any issues, just curious.
  6. thanks, I did not install header, it was tight just getting her situated. I am hoping to install headers from under and make it all work, will def. keep you posted. I was looking at a hurst 6" or 7.5 shifter and did not know if the 6 would work. Thanks again, hope to hear her soon
  7. Trackspeed, just installed my motor today, was a snap, what shifter did you use on the t56 thanks Kyle
  8. trackspeed, what master cylinder for the clutch did you go with. THanks
  9. trackspeed, just recieved my CX racing swap kit, this is really nice. Thanks for helping answer my questions, I think that people will start buying more of there products after seeing the quality they get.
  10. Well, it feels great, ordered the CX racing, really appreicate all the input, had another member researched this with me and all looks to be great. Thanks again
  11. Ok, guys, man I have been racking my brain, so I called CXracing about there rear mount, my Z is a 1971 and does not have the horizontal mounts, my bolts are vertical and he said it should be a easier install since my car was originally a standard. I think I am going to go order the CX stuff, looks really good and seems that the trans mount is not an issue. Can anyone verify about the Z's having a different style trans mount for years. Also, I guess its a high mount alt, which talking to dirty dingo, they have a driver high mount bracket and high mount ac for passenger which will work great. looking better and better
  12. thanks for the input, what i dont like about the Cx is that bolts going thru the top of the trans tunnel, where you would see the bolt. JCi is on the floor board. Guess I will be going with jci
  13. hey guys, getting ready to purchase ls swap kit, need some advice, I like the CX racing kit except the rear trans mount, was wondering if you guys saw any problems with using JCI's rear trans mount for t56 in stead of the Cx raicing. I figured that both JCI and CX must have the engine and trans lined up the same to put shifter in correct position. Let me know your thought.s
  14. Trackzspeed, what do you think about the CXracing kit. I talked with someone there, they said I can buy the mounts and headers for 899.00. Just wanted to see what you thought and how the build was going. I am tossed up between them and Johns. I did not like the single pipe down the middle so was just going to get mounts and headers and run duels if possible.
  15. hey, newer member here, I am in the process of buying my ls and T56 kit as we speak. I am running all the TTT suspension with the 5lug conversion and short nose r200 kit, very very nice IMO. I looked at Hawks 3rd Gen and it seems to me with the pictures Bruce sent, this is some major fab work to only gain long tube headers, CX racing is an option, but I am leaning toward the JCI, due to its simple bolt in option. I know I can gain some HP with long tube headers but with a nicely cammed LS2 or 3 who cares. I have been reading this post, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated if I am missing something. Also for my build I have done the Reaction Research YZ280 widebody kit to run 315 rears and 275 front tires on 17's. Thanks guys for any input.
  16. Jon, read the whole post, wow, but was wondering Techno Toy Tuning sells there bolt on kit with no mods. I was wondering was you post before they came out with that kit. Seems like you could spend about the same amount of money going either way. I am wanting CV's, disk rears, and coil overs. Now I can buy this whole rear end from a 300zx TT and sell the diff for around 300.00 use the CV's and grab the disk brakes any suggestions, I am starting from scratch and trying to find the easiest route to go by buying parts. My car is the 71 240z thanks for all input. also if it is easier to talk please at anytime give me a call 785-550-6545 really enjoy this forum and want to get going.
  17. OK, what year r200 do I need, CV, and any other parts to get away from u joints and save some money. Have done lots of research and seem that is the easiest way and does work very well. Thanks for the help really appreciate it.
  18. any thoughts on the r230 out of 300zx TT, have a guy that is selling whole rear end out of 300zx TT with 90k for 200.00 thought go ahead use it, and buy the Techno toy tuning adapter to make fit in my 240z.
  19. Yes foam shaping is very difficult to do, guess I will keep looking to what I want to do, what size tire r u running with the imsa rear flares? I assume your doing V8 and what rear end set up are you going with as well.
  20. Jon, nice job on quarters, what are you thinking for the front end, I have thought of imsa rear, maybe incorporated wide ZG front flares.
  21. Ok, this is what I am thinking for my 240z Either body kit from original post above R230 rear end conversion Ls2 engine with t56 6 speed Roll cage built CCW wheels 17x ? Depending on body kit My post was to see if anyone on this forum has seen both kits and what they think or imput they can give. Hope this info can get me some answers thanks guys for any help.
  22. YZ are 3" and IMSA are 6" that is why I am having my problem making a decision. Thought if anyone who has personally seen the body can give some advice.
  23. OK, guys have a question for you, I live in Kansas and want my girl to stand out. I have been looking at the JCCJDM Imsa kit with out g-nose, but really like the reaction research YZ 280. Only problem I have is the YZ 280 rear flares don't seem to have much flare in the back, but hard to make a decision off of pics. Been thinking of doing the IMSA rear with 3 piece spoiler and yz 280 front, any one doing this of any ideas or comments. thanks Kyle
